Not technically. The ten wickets need to fall for an opener to carry his bat.

But in common usage these days it is often said of an opener who bats through to the end of a match undefeated.

Just a fantastic team effort with everyone chipping in (well Waller did not get much of a chance, Taylor took a great catch), bowlers, batsmen, and Vusi's ton is the icing on the cake.
