Jarvis would not have made an impact, IMO. He's taken just 10 wickets in 9 innings and has an econ rate of 8.39. Jarvis is a terrific longer form bowler, but his ODI and T20 record is not something the current ZIM side will miss. Even Dale Steyn is a mediocre limited overs bowler, although that probably has more to do with SA resting him so he stays fit for Tests (a ploy which has worked well because how many fast bowlers go through a career and hardly miss a Test?)

Cremer may or may not have made a difference as he has a tendency to be expensive as well. On this tiny Sylhet ground any spinner would have been tonked. He would probably have extracted some turn as a wrist spinner though.

Price is a big miss and in all 3 formats. He also had the advantage of being able to get under the opponents skins.

Now that it seems the ICC is directly mediating between players and the ZC. Plus with the ICC restructuring, the Big 3 will probably demand receipts for any ICC loans made to the ZC, and also with 2 world cups in the next 12 months, is there any chance of guys like Ervine, Cremer, Jarvis coming back if the salary issues can be guaranteed? Or is there a political/racial motivation behind them leaving also?

I think its all about the money these days but I think these guys have been burnt too many times before by this board so I cant see them returning whilst PC & co are still in charge ....

Does anyone know how many guys from ZC are at the WC? Did they have to hire a Jumbo to get them all over there and booked into 5 star or is the contingent vaguely reasonable?

Really not sure why PJ Moore is not in that line-up either.

Maybe it's because he has never shown his supposed class? Moor has a SR of 87 in T20s, Maruma is striking at 112, Waller at 122.

If you think ZIM have done badly...at least you guys can go home without the most embarassing loss of the tournament. Our boys have to go to the 2nd stage with a loss to Hong Kong. Can you imagine having to face 30,000 of your angry fans against the top sides at home with nowhere to hide?
