Yes. We lost a lot of depth with the departures of Jarvis, Rainsford, Ncube, and Meth, with Bobby Mpofu forever battling injuries, so we need to get a sense of who is next in line behind the top four (Chatara, Panyangara, Vitori, Shingi). Tiripano should be in the next group behind them alongside Chinouya and Mupariwa.zimfan1 wrote:Think its worth taking him on the A tour and finding outjimbo wrote:How fast is Tiripano then seeing as the three wickets he has today are bowled? is he a contender for national honours or purely a dam good domestic player?
Meanwhile the last wicket pair and Musakanda in particular have turned this into some sort of contest. Well batted!
Chatara did not finish his overs, hope he's not injured. He bowled a no ball immediately before going off so there's another expanation, although I've never seen him bowl a beamer before.

No sweat here. I guess only boredom could have unrailed Hami.
In a way it's not funny how the Mountaineers have turned into the bullies of the domestic scene all of a sudden. But then again Taylor was missing today, and as much as Hami represents half the Goats' batting, Rhinos are only half the side without BT.

Credit to the Brents, they have stuck to there small player base which will only benefit them rather than all the chopping and changing at a side like the Eagles.foreignfield wrote:No sweat here. I guess only boredom could have unrailed Hami.

I would put money on the Mountaineers beating our own national side at the moment.

Yes, the Eagles have been in self-inflicted disaray for at least a couple of season now. The not so funny part is how the Tuskers have lost more than half their side due to reasons beyond their control.zimfan1 wrote:Credit to the Brents, they have stuck to there small player base which will only benefit them rather than all the chopping and changing at a side like the Eagles.

Interesting thought. What would our national side look like without the Mountaineers' players (in Tests)?zimfan1 wrote:I would put money on the Mountaineers beating our own national side at the moment.
Zimbabwe Nationals
1. Vusi
2. Regis
3. Taylor
4. Williams
5. Raza (Waller)
6. Mutumbami (wk)
7. Chigumbura
8. Utseya
9. Panyangara
10. Vitori
11. Chinouya
Mountaineers
1. Mawoyo
2. Kasuza
3. Hami
4. Maruma
5. Mutizwa
6. Sauramba
7. Shingi
8. Tiripano
9. Mushangwe
10. Wellington
11. Chatara
The Nationals' batting looks stronger, but the Mountaineers' bowling attack could inflict some real damage. In a three match series I would expect the Nationals to edge it 2-1.
It wouldn't be such a bad idea to play a match between the domestic champions and the rest of the side leading up to the SA Test.

And just to prove they can match the national side blow by blow, Mountaineers have decided to bring out the good old-fashinoed Zimbo collapse today.

Well, this is beginning to get ugly for the Mountaineers. Considering the form of the season, where did this performance come from? Thanks to Maruma again for giving the score a bit of respectability.
