What a surprise, our medium pacers going for runs at the death yet again. When will we learn.

Panyangara would be a good third seamer to have, where he has the luxury of bowling himself out in the middle overs. But he's awful at the death.
We've been truly shafted with the ground sizes too. Everywhere except the Gabba and Manuka have been grounds the size of a postage stamp, which affects us the worst off all teams I'd say given how poor our death bowling is.

Yeah it's a joke isn't it. We turn average batsmen into superstars. It'd be like Panyangara going out and getting a hundred.grant wrote:now this balbirnie guy is smashing sixes....... he had such poor batting stats before this match

if things continue this way, we'll be chasing 400

he is as good as, Shingi has lost form, others gone, Vitori was injured then unfit, still finding his way back. Still, with the displays in this WC Panyangara may be out soon.FlowerPower wrote:Like I said I'm a bit off Zim cricket but explain Panyangara is he the best we have...genuine question

If only he could produce some of those toe-crushing yorkers today...... the way he did against Ire last year in the t-20 wc. he was very accurate at the death that daybrmtaylor.com admin wrote:Panyangara would be a good third seamer to have, where he has the luxury of bowling himself out in the middle overs. No hating but really? Its now customary for him to come back last 10 and batting pp to serve up dollies to set batsmen....this really is abysmal from Zim bowling...and fielding great dissapointment...same vs SA vs Pakistan decent upfront attrotious last 15....and no lessons learnt...terrible terrible ...come on DouggyFlowerPower wrote:Like I said I'm a bit off Zim cricket but explain Panyangara is he the best we have...genuine question

I'd be dropping Mupariwa before Panyangara. I don't dislike Mupariwa, but I don't see what everyone else sees in him - he's predictable, slow, doesn't move it off the seam, doesn't swing it. He's got not a threatening bowler. Sure he may have averaged 26 a decade ago but the game has changed, I just don't see a place for a bowler like him anymore.
Panyangara is at least a touch quicker and get get some movement, it makes him - at the very least - a threat upfront.
