[Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Re: [Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
looks like mire has hurt himself
Re: [Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Quite glad i did not wake up early to watch this. We seem to have the most toothless bowling attack in the world. We have probably conceded the most runs from all the teams in this tournament. Now we cant even bat to save our lives. Horrible.

so all we need is a 200 run partnership between Taylor and Williams

Yeah. It looks like the strategy coming into this tournament was to rely on allrounders, guys like Mire and Chigumbura getting through lots of overs and bolstering the batting in the process. It was a reasonable idea I guess, but in the end it's just weakened our bowling too much. We've definitely been a seamer short. And arguably a quality spinner short - an offspinning Utseya would have been very useful.zimbos_05 wrote:Quite glad i did not wake up early to watch this. Pak won, so now Ireland either have to boost their NRR today beyond recognition or hope for the Windies to bottle it against UAE.Kriterion_BD wrote:In the other game looks like PAK will choke to SA which Ireland needs to progress.

They might get an NRR boost today, but they're so far behind that their best bet is to beat Pakistan...which is pretty possible given how erratic PAK are.foreignfield wrote:Pak won, so now Ireland either have to boost their NRR today beyond recognition or hope for the Windies to bottle it against UAE.Kriterion_BD wrote:In the other game looks like PAK will choke to SA which Ireland needs to progress.

The Pakistani quicks will blow them away.Kriterion_BD wrote:They might get an NRR boost today, but they're so far behind that their best bet is to beat Pakistan...which is pretty possible given how erratic PAK are.foreignfield wrote:Pak won, so now Ireland either have to boost their NRR today beyond recognition or hope for the Windies to bottle it against UAE.Kriterion_BD wrote:In the other game looks like PAK will choke to SA which Ireland needs to progress.

Time for that 200 run partnership Jemisi talked about.
A shame Mire didn't build on his form against Bangladesh in this tournament. Maybe like with Kamungozi, results against BD flatter to deceive.

Mire really hasn't come off at this cup
Re: [Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Completely non sensical from Mire. He was a wicket waiting to happen. Foot movement non existent. Clear panic in his batting. Just slashing at every shot rather than trying to move the ball around and work singles and then punish the odd ball. Absolutely terrible stuff.
