Thanks buddy! Vitori is in the T20 team in Bangla so how is he in the 4-day squad in India as the match starts this Monday?
You have two errors Vitori and Masakadza are not in the 4day squad, Nyauchi and Nyumbu are.
I didn't post that team. Glad to see Wayne James with the team.

My likely XI:

Musakanda
Chari
Kaia
Chakabva
Masavure
Mamhiyo
Mutombodzi
Nyumbu
Tiripano
Garwe
Nyauchi

Rooting for a ton by Chakabva and 5-fer by Nyumbu

Well we have the cricinfo version of the squad at last, the players are listed as :

Mutumbodzi, Chakabva, Chari, Garwe, Gumbie, R Kaia, Mamhiyo, Maruma, W Masakadza, Masvaure, Mupunga, Musakanda, M'shangwe, Nyumbu, Tiripano & Vitori

As has been said it'll be a difficult trip for Masakadza and Vitori to be in their whites and ready for start of play so it's to be hoped that Nyauchi is there to give 15 to choose from

Not exactly a squad to be overly excited about but at least it's proper cricket rather than that 20 over crap going on in Bangladesh

Game has started and we're bowling 4-103 ......

Interesting to see who opens with Chari .....

So it's Garwe, Gumbie, Mupungu and Musakanda that miss out in this first match, I certainly have doubts about Mamhiyo being in this side and also Chari while I think Gumbie should have the gloves ahead of Chakabva, his days as a national keeper are over while Gumbie is one of the future keeper choices, I would leave Mamhiyo out and have Gumbie in with Chakabva as a batsman and give serious thought to Musakanda instead of Chari

Afghans are 148-4 after 55 overs, 2 wickets for Tiripano and one each for Masvaure and M'shangwe

Another place, another day, another toothless Zim display

238-4 after 82 overs, 7 bowlers tried

I'm a little surprised that cricinfo are showing this as a non first class match, perhaps not a bad thing for the bowlers though ........

I thought this might happen. Associate 2nd string sides probably don't count as FC. THat said, this is obviously a higher standard than Zim domestic cricket, so it would be useful if these games did count towards the players' records.

I'm sure ZIMDOGGY can create a song taking cue from this...

We left our best second string spinner, Mufudza, home and brought a 30 year old out of form Nyumbu and equally out of form M'Shangwe ahead of him. I would have definitely played Musakanda in the XI. He is the emerging talent of the season. Instead we play two converted batsmen in Maruma and Mutombodzi. Yes, Maruma of the last few seasons would have deserved this, but not this season.
