Who is the favorite All rounder of Zimbabwe for all time?

Whitall has a double hundred against New Zealand in my eyes he was our poor mans version of Kallis. I feel his career was cut short by the rebel saga great fielder and would play anywhere from 1 to 11 .Had that tough Rhodie spirit that is lacking in our boy nowadays.

Whittall was awesome. That 188* was in a match that Zimbabwe were heading for a huge defeat against NZ, we still lost the game but came close to salvaging a draw because of his efforts. Can you imagine any of today's lot coming at 48/4 in the second innings of a test with a huge deficit and grinding out 188*. These days they would be thinking about getting home early and fold for 120 all out.

Well, he is an all-"rounder" all right...

For me, my 3 all time favorite players are also the top 3 all rounders for Zim:

1. Guy Whittall (what a guy! fell in love with his cricket and Zimbabwe 100% by watching that 188* of his. Here were my thoughts about his knock: http://kshanaprabhaa.blogspot.in/2008/0 ... icket.html)
2. Heath Streak (what a wonderful cricketer he became as he got older, contributing almost every game with the bat invariably
3. Andy Blignaut the maverick!

I'm lucky to have seen him live at hsc during the stanbic bank pro 20 he smashed a six into the tennis courts and another that bounced of the roof of the pavilion .

Heath Streak, Blignaut, Neil Johnson and Sean Ervine. Whitall wasn't a good bowler, but I agree he could bat.

Anyone want to post their team of these guys? Here is mine. I chose it in ODI format as most of these guys were pre T20. Taylor gets the nod as WK. His offspinners were 'useful' when Zim were tying down batting with spin in short form games. I also only chose players that I could remember. I wanted to put in Chigumbura as I'm not a complete knocker of his. I think his best possibly deserved merit in this team. However gone with Friend and Marillier (mainly on heroics, but he also had a pretty good record).
