BEST PLAYING XI FOR 2nd Test : Zimbabwe V/s Sri Lanka

Post by STONEMAN »

It was an interesting first test between Zimbabwe & Sri Lanka, where both team played superbly and the result came just few overs before the end of the match that was going for a draw.Zimbabwe played a fascinating game, particulary the pressure was taken by lower order to make a respectable draw, but it was the Sri Lankan spinners who take the advantage of the slowness of the wicket and won the game.

Umpiring was a big issue and has been a great talking point at the media , as six Zimbabwean batsman were given Leg Before Out in the second innings, with the decision of Tim Mowayo & Craig Ervine looked much questionable.

Zimbabwe now at the second test will look to make the sereis 1-1, and changes will be expected as there is some long time failures, out of form players. For Test Cricket, a team needs 6 perfect batsman, 1 allrounder and 4 specialist bowlers who can take twenty wickets and win the game.

For Zimbabwe, Chari looked out of colour again at the international arena, Masakadza has got long term failure now, Williams, Ervine, Moor deserve another go. Waller might have to sit out for Sikandar Raza, as his spin might proof more effective in the slow Harare Track. Tiripano & Mpofu, failed for what they were selected for i,e taking wickets when the team needs, but they failed economical spells are useless in test cricket, as test cricket matters only taking wicket. Finally, Carl.Mumba is the great find, and will improve more he plays, never seen a zimbabwe bowler hitting constantly at 138 kph in a slow wicket after, Henry Olonga.

Good Squad, Masvaure, Musakanda & Nayuchi deserve chance, Masvaure is much better then that useless Chari. Masakadza time is over, he is in the team due to his old performance. Want to see Vitori in his old form, swinging the bowl into the right handers at 140 kph
