#ZCBOARD MUST GO
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Xlife- I’m curious who here do you suspect wants cricket to become an elitist white minority sport?
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
People really ought to put this Lady Chevrons issue into perspective, it’s being milked to death.
Once again ZC knew they needed to tick this box and they’ve done it in the most superficial and cheapest way possible, much like they do anything else. Once the 400 hangers on come back from their free holiday ladies cricket will be forgotten until next time the possibility exists of an all expenses paid excursion arises.

If you want to be genuinely indignant then consider the plight of the schoolboys. They’ve played a semblance of cricket their whole lives and there’s barely ever any age group tours, properly held trials or inter-provincials or sweet fuck all year in and year out. Consider the current U19 boys, other member teams are touring the planet and playing bi-lateral and triangular series and I’ve been watching a bit of the stuff going on in the UK. If we get to the WC at all people mustn’t cry when we get dicked. And there’s no reason to be because we have some nice players. Once again ZC drops the ball, actually not dropped so much as stolen. Where is the ICC funding for our U19’s? By all accounts players and coaching staff are doing a decent job with zero assistance from these incorrigible thieves.

Cricket has always been an elitist sport. It's foundations are set in elitism. To this day it exhibits elitism.
In Africa it is easier to roll some paper bags in to a ball and kick it around bare feet and have a game. Cricket requires more than just a ball. This is why it is important that those running ZC are the right people. Mukhulani has already said he does not care for the youth or providing them with equipment, so even if his board was in charge, there will be no youngsters coming through and cricket will eventually die from this group retiring and only those with money able to play, hence you will most likely see it go back to a situation where the africans who do have money don't really care about the game so it dies and the whites being the only ones playing.
This idea of us vs them needs to stop, and it's time to let non african zimbabweans be in charge of things.

Exactly. Everybody empathises with them, to have put in any amount of time and worked towards a goal - no matter how unlikely - and then be deprived of the opportunity is an extremely unfortunate situation.Googly wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 4:05 amPeople really ought to put this Lady Chevrons issue into perspective, it’s being milked to death.

However, you can't let the tail wag the dog. Men's cricket subsidises women's cricket everywhere, it's just the reality of the situation. It's like the airplane safety message, you have to attend to your own mask before helping the kids. The singular focus has to be on saving the men's game, because if it dies everything else will too.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
And it’s the same old story where I’m almost prepared to bet that the ICC allocated money specifically for the women, and what’s been allocated, what’s been spent and what remains will not add up.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Well anyway I think this saga is almost over. No need to burn bridges anymore guys.
