Finally some cricket to talk about

Or nah ?
I just had a vision of a badly scuffed up cricket ball (the 'worked on with a bottle top variety') as a covid virus lookalike. Let's all put on some padding and hit the shit out of the park.

Afghanistan Cricket have just tweeted that the two tests and 3 T20s will take place in March.
Awesome news. Looking forward to that Test series!

Genuine question, do you feel that Wes will play in the test matches? No real first class experience and very difficult to break the Taylor, Ervine, Williams and Raza middle order, particularly if Regis is going to keep wicket.

Wes has only played 1 FC game. It might not be the right time to introduce him . Has he ever faced decent leg spin anywhere? Funny enough Shumba has played 7 FC games and averages 40. It’s a tricky one . If they play 8 batsmen then one of them can come in at 8. Shumba is good too. Trust me

The only way he can play is if Raza opens. I think Raza can cope with the workload. He is a top athlete.

Personally I would go with this.

Raza
PJ
Ervine
Taylor
Williams(capt)
Burl
Regis (wk)
Don
Chisoro/Wes/Shumba
Blessing
Ngarava

The Don is not a bad bowling option against a team like Afghanistan. I have a feeling lefties will be the key. Time will tell.

Good batting but bowling looks like it's missing something

I'm all for youth injection believe me.
However I would like Madhevere shumba and potentially Myers to get games against Ireland in march.
Not long to wait let the old heads cop the test matches with combined FC experience

For me this is the Q,
1. Do we give symbol and Kasuza a chance to build and at least fail before replacing?
Or,
Do we be ruthless and drop them knowing their lowish ceiling and get Shumba and Wes In there?

Another way of thinking is get 7 batsmen in + keeper.
3 paecmen.

Between Wes/Shumba, Raza and Williams, we are fine in the spin department.
So 3 pace+ Williams/Raza/young’in.
