It was a hell of a fightback to even give ourselves a chance there. But they should've never allowed Ireland to run away with it at the beginning in the first place.

Sad...as fans of Zim cricket we have to wait several months to see the team in action...It would have been great if they would have progressed to the next stage...

Our seamers were ok, but Ireland's frontline spinners won the match.

Dockrell: 4-18-2 / Utseya 4-0-38
McBrine 4-26-2 / Kamungozi 2-17-0

Only Williams finished on par with his Irish counterpart:
Stirling 4-24-0 / Williams 4-27-1

all is not lost t20 is a funny game and the Dutch have a few match winners and the UAE have the spinners to trouble Ireland …..

Its unlikely but we aren't done …...

Interestingly, post-game reaction on Twitter is far more about blaming ZC / "the administration" rather than the players.

Chigumbura should have been sent before Sibanda. We were some runs short. At the same time, we could not get Stirling cheaply.

Well, we can say proud of the fight, character shown, et al, but we should have basically won this. Everything else, including the non-preparation, attention off cricket due to other problems, etc. would just be an excuse. Its not a blame only towards the XI who played, a failure of Zimbabwean Cricket to get their act together as a whole.

And no, there is no sense in trying to pick the playing XIs on our part for the upcoming matches, as there will be no logic anyway when they pick them. And less said about the batting order and tactics the better.

It's hard enough for the team to compete when they have so little match practice, constantly losing talent and constant crap with administration and lack of pay and then they have to handicap themselves with appalling selection and strategy.

I felt the game slipped when Williams went out, was looking good and if he'd stuck around with BT - we could have got a competitive total. 163 was never enough on that small ground. How Ireland managed to almost snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is a testament to jujulogical interference and wizardry.

Oh well...

.. maybe the Dutch will do us a favor.
