Aside from that angle the money is in the land that's been allocated. Land in Vic Falls is at an absolute premium. If they've been given enough to put up residential housing. That's where the long term off book big money is.
If that money and the hiring out of facilities came back into the system it would actually be a decent lomg term investment. They're looking further ahead than we've got.

There aren't 10 000 beds in Vic Falls. Still not sure how they hope to fill the stadium. If you make it free for locals you'd get a couple of thousand extra in there, but would have to lay on some buses. The only other thing you could use the stadium for is soccer, maybe sevens rugby, but that would mean you'd ideally need drop-in pitches. How does that help our cricket?

Another golf course would be interesting. That's big bucks to put in and maintain. They'd have to go some to better the Elephant Hills course, which is not that busy anyway.

Vic Falls has a few conference centres already. It's all about persuading people to use yours i guess.

The one thing they're never really going to use this for is cricket. The logistics and expense of getting players into the middle of nowhere and housing them once the qualifiers are over just makes it a non starter.

They could host internationals there, but what a waste if it gets used so seldom. Bulawayo and Harare fans would be very unhappy with that. I just don't know how ICC were on board with allocating money for this.

Whilst cash is being thrown at this venture franchise players are yet to receive their pittance. Schools have started, people are broke after Xmas. Fiddling while Rome burns.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius.
He did pretty well in the U19 WC as well. He was batting with Dewan Marais, another huge lad with real ability, that to me looked like he had the edge on Pretorius. Shows what I know

Pretorius does this funny little circle with his bat just as he's starting his swing that looks like it's going to get him into all kinds of trouble, but clearly works for him. He's batting himself into an IPL contract.
