Great interview by Dean , but of course the naysayers will pick holes in it.

You're clearly part of his PR team.
He speaks well.
It would have sounded better if he said he'd be grinding some runs out and not crunching them. That talk can bite you. Hopefully the bowlers will take offence
If he's been anywhere near an Airbus cockpit I'd be surprised. Maybe Microsoft Airbus on his couch.
You don't play in as many places as he has unless you're an international or someone is opening some doors for you, but clearly he can play or he wouldn't get close to an opportunity, let alone a second, third and fourth one.
He said his brother had just come off a 4 hour batting session, nobody does that. That's about 1000 balls. An hour is a standard long session, if someone is willing you could maybe push two, but I call bullshit on 4. If someone threw 1000 balls he'd need hospitalization.
Sounds a bit arrogant, but didn't really cross the line.

I heard he got into some good verbals with Sean Williams. I like that, nothing wrong with a bit of spice, it's not tiddlywinks. He's exactly what we need in terms of getting people's competitive juices flowing. It's boring everybody being bosom buddies.

I'd just like to repeat we wouldn't be needing to sit thru the Knackerville PR if our system was functioning as it should, but I'm not completely averse to some miraculous eligibility, it will certainly make it interesting. He will go from not a lot of pressure to red line because if he fucks up he's stuck for some years and can only play elsewhere as an overseas, which is not easy. And one of our batters will be sitting out.
The like for like is Wes. Maybe we'll see him bat for his life fairly soon, his free lunch will be over.

I haven't seen Knackerville bowl, but if he's any good the other all rounder he threatens is Welly, but I really rate Welly's bowling. He doesn't get the wickets he should, he's got great control and he's a decent bat.

You'd be wrong , not part of any pr team. More competition for spots can only be good and if things don't work out does it really matter ? I'm looking at it as a half glass full not empty.

You can't call Welly an allrounder surely ? He is handy at best with the bat but certainly no allrounder

Hes played a few decent innings. I'm just trying to figure out where Knackerville slots in.

Probable Zim lineup at the 2024 T20WC:

1 Joylord Gumbie
2 Tanunurwa Makoni
3 Antum Naqvi
4 Awad Naqvi
5 Ali Hamid
6 Sikandar Raza
7 Tashinga Makoni (still only 17 years old, miraculously)
8 Faraz Akram (C)
9 Elton Chigumbura
10 Wellington Masakadza
11 Tendai Chatara

Head Coach, National Selector and shirt sponsor: Zubair Naqvi
Head Caterer: Mrs Naqvi
Bus Driver: Grandpa Naqvi

Wait until they name one of the ends at The Money Pit Stadium in Vic Falls the Lord Naqvi End. The other one the Zolsky End

Just when you thought things were back on track or heading in the right direction in Zim cricket. Disaster awaits us on multiple fronts in the coming years, I promise you.

Depends on the format , for me Welly is a 50 over cricketer. Knackerville as you call him bats at 3 or 4 in all formats
