Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
Well we have won a session and so handsomely that we are well on the way to winning the day. Need to be batting by tea.
Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
Brilliant work by the fast bowlers, they have got Afghanistan on the mat. I thought going in with 3 part time spinners in UAE is not the best of ideas, but so far Zimbabwe have proved me wrong.
It gives Zimbabwe good batting depth as well.

Yes I knew it. in test cricket the team with more experience usually wins. I hope we will roll them out for under 160. should hve gone for zim @ 8 to 1
Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
if rashid was playing we would have needed every batsmen.
Muzrabani, nyauchi, chatara and jarvis would actually be a serious bowling lineup. Add a good spinner like cremer or part timers in raza and williams and we have a good test bowling line up. Unfortunately our fast bowlers cant bat.

Re the pitch
How much is it doing and what is the prognosis? Is it hard to bat on?

I agree with Zimfan1 I don’t think they bowled that well, too many loose deliveries, but a decent amount of good deliveries which produced five wickets.
I reckon Blessing bowled better than Nyauchi, but Victor had more luck on his side. Blessing had a fair few runs secured through the slips.
Need to back it up now and finish them off, Zim have let good positions slip too many times before to make me feel comfortable
