Kaitano looked better than Prince or Kasuza.

He looks very good in defence, blocks more like Pujara type.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him , I guess the plan is for everyone to bat around him.

Shumba looked better than Prince or Kasuza.

If he manages to bat through the whole day tomorrow it would be a fantastic debut for him.
They both looked good but there is a difference between Bangladesh and Pakistan for Zim expecially as Zim batters struggle against the really fast bowlers.

A set Kaitano had looked good with strike rotation in the domestic matches I watched on stream, so here's hoping...

Shumba had a golden opportunity to convert given that he had done all the hard work. That 240+ ball knock was useful after all, to gain the confidence that he could show today with the bat.

Must admit, I did not expect us to close the day at 114/1 after 41 overs of batting. I thought we would at least end up 5 down. All the collapsing might happen tomorrow, but we haven't yet succumbed after 2 days. Small wins.

Just shut up ffs! Do not bring Pakistan into this match, Zimbabwe are playing against Bangladesh right now and not against Pakistan.

Yeah, Taylor might struggle to open his account against Malcolm Marshall. So what? Let us look at what the debutant can do here against the opposition he has been offered. He may struggle elsewhere, but let us be clear, it is not his fault that he is playing in this test - possibly undercooked with confidence and preparation - but gutsing it out there. He has shown significant progress starting from NPL last season and across formats. He deserves to be there ahead of a Chari or someone. Let us back the guy and see what he can do. At least both the openers appear to have already done better than Prince, Chari and Kasuza.

If Taylor adds 40 more runs tomorrow, he can leapfrog Guy Whittall (5) and Hamilton Masakadza (4) up to 4th place in all time test runs for Zim.

I think it’s a unfair comparison to bring up Pakistan in game we are playing Bangladesh, from what I have seen Kaitano has looked solid in defence and does not look like he is about to edge every ball.

I am only comparing him to Prince, Kasuza our previous opening pair.

As for Shumba I think he will learn with time, he didn’t look at sea.

I personally think Shumba will benefit with play some games with Ervine and Williams.

That’s something the last generation never got a chance to experience.

Overall they both looked decent.

Yea why is everybody hating on the guy?
From the little I saw he looked solid and very competent, especially against the spin bowling.
We've found a batter here in Shumba, we've found a LOI batter in Wez and Marumani, can Myers be another

Opening batsman as spinner allrounder, a great option to have. Shumba is a talented cricketer he will be differant with the ball if he works under good coach.

Any Zimbabwe pacer with such a killer instinct in last decade ? I think No. May be in 90s with the likes of Olonga & Brandish
