the worst thing for me is that it just gives people more reason to think zimbabwe cricket is dead in the water, 4-1 at home and possibly 4-1 away means that bangladesh are pulling away from us in terms of how equal the teams are quality wise. with the embarrassingly low total outsiders looking in to the situation will put the boot in and ignore all the recent good that has been happening with cricket in the country,people will think the team isn't improving and instead is going backward, all the good work done by beating Kenya twice this year and the domestic set-up etc. will be forgotten if humiliations like this keep happening, with mendis and murali last year there was an excuse, but i don't think there is a get-out clause so to speak this time

Having watched the entire game including Dirk Viljoen's pitch report I can say the pitch was not the issue. It had a bit of grass on it and wasn't disintegrating. Most of the Zimbabwean dismissals were due to lack of footwork and just wafting the bat at the ball. The Bangladesh dismissals were due to them trying to finish the game off.

This Zimbabwe team is not a 44 all out side, particularly against Bangladesh. If many other teams played like Zimbabwe did today there would be rumblings about match fixing.

This is one of those days one just wants to forget about. Honestly this is a huge blow to the Zim Cricket family
considering the steady momentum that has been building up of late.
I think we just need to keep a level head and bear in mind that we have an upcoming tour with our Southern neighbours. One tour which i feel we must show progress.
Let us not be hasty in calling for drastic changes in the team, fair enough Vusi's call up is long overdue, i think our greatest undoing lies in the captaincy.
I also think our Achilles heel is within this role, hence my suggestion to give it to passionate people like Taibu or the those with experience like Pricey.
i hope this wont be repeated in my life especially against cricketing minnows like Bangladesh.

One change for the south african tour, in my mind, has to be Coventry for either Craig Ervine/Greg Lamb/Ryan Butterworth or maybe even Maruma. We need to tighten up in terms of batting. Too much hard work has been put into Zimcricket over the past 18months, and to perform in that manner against a side that we're better than just furiates me so much !!
Re group Zimbabwe, and win the next match. Because if we dont, Alistair Campbell seriously needs to consider as to whom will be in the frame for the south african tour.

To be honest I think the current side is our best team. I doubt wholesale changes are going to make much of a difference. We need to get Coventry, Taylor, and Taibu back to their best form.

Im not sure this is our best side. I think we need to start selecting players on current form and not reputation. Sibanda's had some great scores in the past month or so (2 hundreds and a double hundred i think) and has scored around 900 domestic and first class runs including tonning up 6 times, by far the most. Maybe Dion Ebrahim deserves a call up? That how i see it from here

Welcome to the forums zimbokiwi. I couldnt agree more with you. I think now we have a solid pool of experienced players as opposed to years gone by were introducing a player into the team would be choosing someone new without experience. Coventry since his 194 has done nothing to warrant his long stay in the team both locally and international at the some time you have someone like Sibanda who we all know has the experience and was dropped from the team because of poor form(well perhaps) but his come right on the domestic front getting big scores regulary. They say "competition breeds success" maybe this is the only way we should go. Losing is part of the game but we shouldnt be losing all the time.
