I'm really pleased to see Matt Welch in that squad. I'm looking forward to seeing him against some quality bowlers, the same goes for Maru

Would have been good to see Ben Curran there too, just to keep him interested in sticking around. I still think he could be an option in a year or two as an opener. He's done two full seasons now and it would appear he is willing to put in those hard yards
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
He's just signed a deal to play UK club cricket in the summer. Interestingly as an overseas player though, rather than as a local. Given that he played county cricket as a local recently, he could presumably have done the same in club cricket, if he had wanted to. I took this to be a sign that he is serious about playing for Zimbabwe, if possible. However... if that was the case, he'd surely be better served by playing Vigne Cup and NPL, rather than for Wokingham CC...
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
Assume Mpofu and Welch will open which is fair enough. More worried about the bowling.
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
Sure munyonga and chari be in the 2nd match. Both have done well and gotta reward performance
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
Matt welch will be severely tested by these durham boys. They should all see this as a 3 day test match. Whoever shines will surely play the tests against Ireland and Bangladesh later in the year.
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
Apparently Brian chari was picked but has made himself unavailable due to personal reasons.
Mcgini dube and old Michael chinouya will be the players drafted in for the 2nd 3 day match.

Honestly it's tiring seeing the same old names recycled.
Re: Durham tour of Zimbabwe
Roy is a decent enuf player, but ffs give someone else a shot at captaincy at least. Or just make him a family regular in the national side. I guess Lord Mishi's recommendations will only be implemented next year? We at least know it's the same old selectors
