Odzi is pretty much a shadow of it oldself now barely any farming going on the beside the odd tobacco farm. Even the Old Half house got a new lease of life recently. Cricket is indeed in better stead than other sports, that's why they have been able to keep talents like Raza, Williams, Ervine around for soo long. Will the Bennets, Myers, be next in line to fill those shoes? But in truth we could have a lot more talent about if only country was in better standing.

They're not even expats. Vast majority of that Italy side don't live there.

They are far more Italian than Naqvi is Zimbabwean, so good luck to them.

some tenuous link like somebody’s grandmother shook hands with Mussolini in 1942 and that qualifies them as a homegrown player in the tape ball league.

White farmers are back! Estimates of 1500 from the original 5000. All younger folk.
Barely any of them own the land, they pay a 9-11% tythe to their feudal landlords living the good life in the leafy suburbs. This system was abolished in England 500 years ago  Talk about going in reverse. Most farmers don't live on the leased farms because they fear trouble from rapacious opportunists. They drive hours a day from nearby towns to do the daily chores. They don't build local schools or clinics or repair roads or do much to better the local communities because they could get booted out tomorrow.
It seems land wasn't the issue
Mega wealthy Politicians own most of these properties, some guys upwards of 5 or 6 ea. I think the record is 14- the Mugabes.

Regardless, they aren't "expats".

I'm not sure what Minister Coventry's count is?
She may still only be on one, but perhaps two?
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em
What a fall from Grace, pardon the pun.
