Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
Why push Madande up the order? If you've got someone making runs down the order why risk snuffing out one of the few positives in our brittle line-up?
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
I think that if there is any one who needs to be pushed up the order its Burl. Madande is doing well he is and he is very new at this level of cricket why push him up the order now when you have someone senior like Burl. I wonder what role Burl will play when the big 3 retire. Surely as a senior player he needs to be at 3-5 there abouts.

Ya I agree there's a case for Burl up the order. I believe he was pushed down the order initially to save the blushes whilst they gave people opportunities ad nauseum up the order. Problem is he's spent years down there that it's some adjustment to come in against the newish ball.
He looks organised and technically reasonably sound when he's playing conventionally and could potentially do the job.
He was 1-3 his whole career until he got selected for the main side then the instructions were - bat at the end and make our losses look respectable if/when the top order fails. It's a bit tongue in cheek, but I'm not far off
It's not like there was no room up the order because we had Kholi and Laubuchagne in the side.

Well all I know is that somebody has to do it
you can't all be lower order batsmen. Wes has actually had to sacrifice a lot moving up the order if we are honest.
Kaia has me worried. He played some terrible shots this series.

What is really worrying is that going into selecting the final WCQ squad we really don't have any established openers to speak of. Gumbie is fresh and new to the team. He has some form going into the qualifiers but he is very much unproven and much more suited to the longer version of the game than the short stuff.. Kaia/Marumani fall into the same hat, no form whatsoever. Gumbie is the only real choice available but this is basically and experiment which may end up going south. The only realistic option we may have is Gumbie opening with Wes and Ervine coming at 3. But the brains trust for some reason hasn't even tried this option. Dave has to work some magic he really has his work cut out here.

I think its worth investing in musekiwa. Seems to have something with the bat.
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
Be interesting to see if myers plays tomorrow. Muyonga shumba and brad evans have cooked their goose for the qualifiers. Madhevere should be put on notice also

Oh I thought you meant Shane Musekwa from Tuskers. Musekiwa, well, I doubt he is international quality
