Geez, Waller has already played and missed more in one over than PJ and Raza all day yesterday.
He’s swinging at everything no respect for his wicket

Waller has just out lived his lives. Even mascots don't last as long as he has. And for him to be given 14 tests with an average just below 22 for a batsman who does nothing else is ridiculous. Its better to be giving chances to youngsters who might actually learn something and benefit from the experience. This should well and truly be his last test innings.

Test cricket I don't want to see him play again. I think at 33 we need to start fazing him out, much like we did with Sibanda, Chigs etc. However I do see genuine merit for him in the limited overs formats. T20 I think he should be the first on the team sheet, to be honest. ODI cricket, he should at least get a go, but again his average isn't great..

Malcolm Waller makes run scoring look very easy but also going out look very easy too.

So it looks like this to me so far,

Hamilton - safe, made the most runs done well should be one of the first names picked.
Mire - I would prefer to see him bat a little further down, give him a bit more freedom. Good player just not suited to opening. Waller has opened
a lower order spot.
Ervine - Disappointing but had done enough previously to be safe.
Taylor - Same as Ervine
Moor - Done enough to keep going with him. Solid
Raza - Looks like he could be great if he can control his impulse to play rash shots early
Waller - Looks like the end of the line
Chakabva - Might be in trouble but we dont have a lot of depth here. If taylor keeps it opens it up to another batsman or allrounder.
Creamer - Been poor but not likely to be dropped. Needs to work his ass off to improve, both as a spinner and captain. Seems to let the game drift.
Chisoro- been ok might keep his spot
Mpofu -- Decent as well but we really need some wicket takers. So one of these might take the fall.

Thoughts?
Spot on.

Yeah, may as well throw in Vusi while you at it.

I really feel that our batsman need a reality check. Maybe they just had a bad test match maybe they just don't have the temperament. BT, Ervine included. They really need to go back to FC cricket and find form before the hectic season starts or we are going to be losing to everyone.

this is the test for Waller.

If he gets in excess of 50, on a fifth day wicket he is likely to live another day.

This is his test.

I dont want to jinx it, but he has been in this situation many times and pulled the rabbit out of the hat before. One of these guys that needs the threat of everything to be taken away from him before he pulls his finger out. He will have a stress related heart attack at 40!!

Maybe he is just a fighter, in his own weird dysfunctional way.

Raza wow what a game this guy is playing seriously becoming close to our most important player and 1st picked on the sheet, massive props to PJ batting outside his character and showing great determination , he seems to do well at the top level and might be a bonus about his personality.
Talking about PJ's personality, this is what Streak has to say:
" PJ [Moor] is a very determined guy first of all, and he's a very intelligent guy who has worked out watching the other guys," Streak said. "It's not easy to just go out there and play shots, so he's adjusted his game accordingly to the wicket. His batting in the first innings has also given him some insight into how to do it. Anyone who has gone out there and batted for a period of time, you can see there haven't been easy or free flowing innings from anyone."
Good that Heath Streak is understanding his players.

Had some hard words to say about Mire and Ervine as well.

I say Sikandar Raza is just about invaluable in this team.

Hami needs to be shown the same respect as BT and be played in his preferred position and be protected from the new ball. We need to groom at least one more opener fast!
