The one good thing about the British press is that if they misquote you there's no shortage of lawyers that you can employ to go after them. They actually have insurance against law suits. I believe KP insured himself when he released his book and that Andy Flower went after him, not sure how true or the outcome.
You could of course write something scurrilous knowing you will be sued and then split the insurance payout with your "mate".

Googly this one is for you

The writer here is very unhappy about what has happened and seems to know the Ballance family very well. Suggests that Rafiq cried racism after Ballance dropped him and shows how far the Ballance family went out of their way to accommodate him in Zim, even giving him a car to use.

It's always good to soak in all sides of a story because the truth usually lies in the middle. Racism is a no but there might be an ulterior motive for this exposè

Always two sides to every story, but that is a bullshit article. It's written by someone who clearly has an agenda against anyone who is not white.

He mentioned how no one batted an eye during the farm invasions, which is absolute horse shit. The whole word batted an eye.

Every single piece of that article is about trying to excuse racism and legitimise it. Making white people who fought in the war out to be some kind of heroes who all of Africa should be grateful for, whilst ignoring the systemic genocide that his forefathers carried out millions through colonisation. I bet he has excuses for apartheid.

It's clear from the wording and the other articles he writes that this author has an agenda, and I would suggest that the formation or a Boer state is probably one of them.

You must be reading a different article?
80% of that piece is the interesting history of the Ballance family. A portion is about his relationship with Rafiq who clearly turned on him. If you now want to discuss the two sides to a story this is where it should take place.
My 10c worth is that if you stay in someone's house, use their vehicle and generally enjoy their hospitality for an extended period and then years later accuse them of being racist you have a poor agenda.

Then a portion of the article is about the treachery of the British. More Rhodesians (including black folk) per capita committed themselves to the British Army to fight the Second World War and had the highest casualty rate per capita of any of the countries in the Allied Forces. That's just a fact. Shortly after the war when Rhodesia declared their independence from the depredations and high handedness of British rule, the British turned on them. Whilst all races/countries bear grudges for historical injustices, that's my generation's.

Who batted what eye over the farm invasions? The world watched and most thought it was justified.

There's no mention of the effects of colonisation simply because that's not what the article is about. Colonisation did have some upsides- every single African government received/won a highly functional country at independence.
How poorly locals were treated is not up for debate. What should be up for debate is whether they're treated any better now. There's the sleight of hand.

Here's another unpalatable truth- had the white colonialists not fought for the Allied Forces and had Germany won the day, Africa would be a vastly different place, but people conveniently forget that.

You may not like this guy's other articles, that's up to you, but this one is probably accurate.

And again no-one is disputing that millions weren't displaced and that many were killed, but if you want to make comparions as to numbers killed one should make 3 columns- pre colonisation, pre independence and post independence. Also include what percentage of the population that was at that point in time. Column 3 will be triple the numbers.
Africa is a violent place where life is cheap and there is no government or ruling tribe that has ever been guilt free of despicable acts.
The world appears to be entirely comfortable with similar looking people hacking each other to pieces, raping and pillaging resources, yet people dwell in the past, led by the noses by people loving the smoke screen so they can continue doing what they do best.

I read the exact same article.

It is quite possible that someone can look after you, and then say something they may think is not racist, but it actually is. You tell them to stop, and they don't, so then you make a complaint about it.

Now, I'm going to get into this too much with you, but there has been evidence of other series of racism with Yorkshire not related to Ballance, so it's obvious there was a culture.

My main point was that if you are going to use that article as a means to say that Rafiq is making this up and Ballance is void of any criticism, then this is the wrong article.

I think its clear Rafiq is making it up, at least partly.

He never once seemed to ask Gary to stop.

This is the problem, in 2021 its too easy to play the race card and like anything that can be exploited, it is being exploited.

There is alot of sympathisers that will pander along to this. Alot of people will use these as 'useful idiots' to manipulate a situation to advantage.

Also, alot of people will see others doing so, and even though in their hearts they know it's a scam will play along as they are side beneficiaries to it too.

I'm on another forum where every single black Zimbabwean is supporting Pakistan in this match. If you offered them a Pakistan passport or an Aussie one (is that a racist word?), every single last one would grab the Aussie one and be gone by tomorrow
