Forget Mushangwe, it's Cremer we're missing. Utseya is not bowling very well at all; we need him to be going at less than 2 an over if he's not going to be a wicket taking threat.

I reckon it's time to take him off. Bring on Vitori for a spell.

Great effort by our tail enders today with the bat. But this post tea session after Manzoor's inspirational run out, has been disappointing. They have their best two at the crease, and we continue to bowl ineffective Utseya. Should have gone for Vitori / Panyangara straightaway.

This is where Shingi would have been effective, bowling back of the length and bowling the heavy balls, but not to be...

At least Mushangwe was available.

Prosper Utseya looking absolutely impotent today.

I blame all this bad selection on the too few number of matches Zimbabwe are playing. If we had been assure of another eight innings against Sri Lanka we would have seen the likes Tino Mutombodzi and Natsai Mushangwe by now.

But because we are so desperate to impress or at least respectability in these matches we have opted for safe options. Remember the first Test the squad was virtually decimated with the absence of Taylor and Williams; except for the fact we performed way above expectations.

Shingi Masakadza's exclusion is baffling though, if not downright stupid.

Test specialist, workhorse and absolutely indefatigable: If anybody should have played this Test it is him. Cannot understand the logic: Pakistan would have been beaming from ear to ear when they didn't see him.

Maybe selectors the need to blast out by trying Brian Vitori. But nothing was broken there: what was there to fix? Not a single left hander for Brian to bowl to. Dumb

Get Utseya off! Any of our bowlers could go at 3 an over, but the other guys might at least look like taking a wicket!

Totalling enjoyed Chataras batting. He opened the batting today and played well. Vast improvement from West Indies.

we have two young legspinners in our squad here, two very exciting ones at that, and two who spin the ball a considerable amount....so why pick Utsea ? Both Mutombodzi and Mushangwe have shown that they can bat, so why did we not select atleast one of them. As long as Utsea is constantly included, how can we expect to take wickets with a slow bowling option.

I'd prefer Cremer in personally as he can bat aswell, which he showed in the West Indies, but in his absence we could atleast pick one of the two next best leg spinners in the country, and not the journeyman Utsea.

Looks like the boys tried hard and stuck to their plans ( slow run-rate ) all teams have these days when you bowl well without much luck but the key is to stick to it and the tide will change ....

We're still in this match a quick few wickets and if we're close to level at the start of the 2nd innings I think we're still in with a chance ....

The only thing we're missing is an attacking spinner in the 4th innings, Pro has bowled ok so far but if the pitch continues to deteriorate he may play a part in the 4th ....

Are there any cracks opening up ??? if there are a few out side of off stump even the seamers will have a field day in the 4th the key is to just make sure we have something to bowl to ......

Anyone on the ground heard why Shingi was dropped ??? I still think he may have not pulled up well after the 1st test ......
