[Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Re: [Match Thread] Ireland v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Raza and Hami may need to do a fair bit of bowling here.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

Massive game this against one of our biggest rivals, yes I now believe we have a rivalry starter with the Irish. They talk shit about us and say we don't deserve test status, it's time we stood up to them and I'd like us to start playing them more often and build on this rivalry ......

Yeah, as I've said before the Irish don't respect Zimbabwe so for that reason alone I'd love to see the Irish get smashed. A vintage minnow bashing century from Masakadza would be very timely.jaybro wrote:Massive game this against one of our biggest rivals, yes I now believe we have a rivalry starter with the Irish. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a rivalry though because unfortunately it's always pretty one sided in their favour when we play Ireland... I think it's a mental thing; because the Irish don't give a damn when they play us they bully us around like Piet Rinke against a Canadian 2nd XI.
Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe is the real rivalry because it's ebbed and flowed... 2000-2006 Zimbabwe was the dominant team, 2007-2010 Bangladesh were the dominant team, 2011-2013 Zimbabwe were the dominant team, 2014 onward it's Bangladesh again. I'd like to see some kind of Ashes equivalent trophy for Zimbabwe and Bangladesh Test series... and maybe even mandate it as a marquee 4 Test series.

I'm pretty sure Zim's ODI record vs Ireland is P5 W3 T1 L1...

Yes, you are right. We are ahead 3-1 with a tie. Coverdale used wrong faCTS in the preview. I tweeted him with screenshots and he quickly corrected. However, they deleted two comments on CricInfo which also mentioned that stats were wrong. Not ethically correct in my opinion to hide your mistake.aydee wrote:Do they??brmtaylor.com admin wrote:
