I have seen on the Zim app the under 19s have been very busy over NOv/Dec
Nathan Hlabangana has been very dominate with the bat.
Some of the games have been against an Academy side but who knows what that represents.
Under 19's
Re: Under 19's
I see the latest racial spat on X incolving Zolsky is about a young kid called Luke Van Zyl.
He's taking wickets in second league, has had a couple of games in Rangers firsts when they were short of players and has done pretty well.
Someone said he's top 10 in Zim, which is not possible, given that hes probably only 18 and not even a regular in Rangers first eleven and the Zolsky boys have jumped all over it, citing him as an example of certain sectors wanting only white.
What the guys should be asking is where he's at at u19 level and has he played representative cricket at other age groups? This is where the .massive damage has been done to our cricket and is why 99% of the good white cricketers throw in the towel.
The ones that remain at franchise level have been thru the mill and can write incriminating books on their journeys.
I haven't seen the kid, so I can't comment on his ability, but I've heard he's pretty good. It's possible/probable that there are better bowlers his age, I don't know, I'm just pointing out what everyone knows- the damage is done at age group level.
Hopefully the kid sees the writing on the wall and doesn't waste another day in this racist system.

Tbh, in this issue, I am with Mawoza
Someone pointing to one name and making him a top 10 player, even though he is playing in the second league, is comedy. This man has the same racist mentality as Mawoza and his gangs.

Re: Under 19's
It’s clearly a troll post to wind up old frank

Re: Under 19's
This has always been the case. There are a lot of talented kids that go through the system and do not proceed to have a cricketing career in Zimbabwe Cricket regardless of colour. The reasons of which go beyond a "racist" system.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Re: Under 19's
I have no idea of that guy's ethnicity, but what people are complaining about is a few of the selections. There is the rabid Asian contingent who live in a homogenous, but class based society that have a dip at ZC all the time without really knowing what happens on the ground here, but all they see is the result. Is that not almost enough?
They're mistakenly jumping at anything to try and prove their point instead of being far more selective.
And all of this has the opposite effect- the more people complain the more ZC dig their heels in determined to prove their way works. It's been 30 years and it doesn't, but what the hell, it might one day.
The guys who live here say mostly nothing, largely because they're beneficiaries of the system. That's not quite the right description, very few people are benefitting as such, but they're surviving. Its the greatest trick of all- so long as youre doing fractionally better than the guy next to you you're winning. Say nothing, face the front and be grateful.
The invective and ridicule when someone says something they think they can jump all over is just stupefying. Bear in mind Zolsky is a ZC employee. Its actually unbelievable whats going on here.
Surely a polite answer backed by facts is the way forward. To have Mawoza whom we know is there because of his family ties spouting this endless racist stuff is so bad. He's even alienated a lot of the black Zimbabweans. Well it does have some merit because everyone now knows beyond any doubt how ZC really feel about whites. Anything a white guy says or does they don't agree with is because he's a racist Rhodesian- from the mouth of an off the chart racist Zimbabwean. Oh for the day when influential black guys stand up against this
Nobody at ZC can legitimately say that Frank is spouting this stuff on his own time. It would just take an Ed Rainsford or a Tino Mawoyo to say - hey c'mon guys, but they won't.
My point about the age group selections stands. It's not hard to find out whether this youngster has been hard done by at age group level and there's a fair chance that he has. We've seen this issue for decades. If not him then there are dozens of others, both black and white. They could write a little piece about why this guy hasn't been good enough to make age group sides? Won't look too good though if he makes a Rangers First Eleven next year and takes wickets whilst the u19's are getting savaged elsewhere. We're all watching now
There are pro cricketers that have been a decade or more in the system probably looking for permanent employment because they've got limited skills and have been trapped in a broken system for years earning next to nothing, and there are few jobs on offer and they make a guy like Frank who drips poison their spokesman? Why are ZC not mending fences and the system? May not be important now but it will have proven to be vital come end of 2027.
This Mangongo thing will be revealing. Nobody is buying that he's suddenly going back to his original job, or being rapped on the knuckles about Kaif Patel after one month.
The Mountaineers team selections going forwards will tell a bit.
I did a bit of digging and I think a part of the problem was Kevin Kasuza. He's been a Mountaineers stalwart for many years and he's a fine player that deserved better treatment, and he's a lot better than Patel. Hopefully we'll see KK back in green. Not that you can really say this guy replaced that guy directly.
5 whites in that squad, including 4 new ones means a few folk got binned.
At the same time it's not a case of looking after older guys either, that's one of the main reasons franchise has gone backwards over the years, but KK absolutely deserves to be there.

Re: Under 19's
Kasuza had a ZC drugs ban over the winter. I can’t imagine Mangongo took kindly to that.
Re: Under 19's
But happy to be part of Madhevere's supposed rehabilitation?
