We'll start with the Pakistan series. Overall the series scoreline was 2-4, which is actually not a bad result given Pakistan are one of the established sides in world cricket. However, with Pakistan missing key players like Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, and Naseem from all or some of the tour effectively means it was a series loss against a Pakistan A team.
Against Afghanistan, a 1-5 scoreline is perhaps disappointing. While its true that Afghanistan have catapulted up a few notches, Zimbabwe would have been backing themselves to get a couple more wins in a full series.
That being said, there is tremendous importance in a bilateral vs Ireland for both sides. The Irish have always viewed themselves as at least as worthy a side as Zimbabwe, and they will give it their all. For Zimbabwe, its a matter of pride and they will want to win each series in order to give some back some optimism to the various stakeholders at play (fans, admin, ICC).
