It gets pimped out every so often in Facebook comments under climate change articles and that. One of many but one that sticks out.

- universal healthcare
- universal basic income - the grocery workers who are working right now are proving how invaluable they are
- bring all emergency/essential manufacturing back to the states - will cost 4x more but that cost should be born by the companies, not the consumer
- let physicians, not MBAs run hospitals and all things concerning patient care

Saving as many lives as possible should always be the objective. The world is in this mess precisely because all of us are colossal fuck ups. Climate change, animal abuse, corporate greed has got us to this point.

Healthcare in America is in shambles precisely because we are letting businessmen run the show and telling MDs and DOs what to do. 80K dead in the richest and most advances nation on earth, because the riches and advancement are only for a select few, not the many.

The undereducated want to open the country and some of them are coughing on people and killing security guards for asking them to wear masks, but I live in a deep red state where 65% voted for Trump in 2016 and none of the businesses that closed 2 months ago are open yet. Everyone is still working from home (those that can). So it turns out that even in Trump-loving states, most people don't want to catch Corona. And thank God for that.

You can open the economy up all you want, but no one is going to go to work (those who can work from home), no one is going to fly internationally, no one is going on vacation, no one is dining at fancy restaurants, and no one will be attending sporting events or concerts. So, there is no choice but to remain quarantined until a vaccine is found.

You fail to realize that the economy will build itself up again. But dead people won't be resurrected.

If you get strangled to death by an invasive Burmese python in the Everglades it’s being registered as a Corona death so all the statistics are an absolute load of bullshit. That’s a world-wide trend as well, totally inexplicable and they need a witch hunt after this craziness is over.
There’s 300 million people and 80 000 dead, and absolutely not all of them from Corona. The figures are inflated and there’s an agenda. People die of a multitude of things, and Covid is the least of our worries. The people bringing the world to a halt need to answer for this. Something like a 99.7% chance. If you are under 70 and not obese and have no underlying conditions your survival chances inch up to 100%. Its about time the world needs to have some sense knocked into it. We have far too many serious problems right now and the way we are doing things now has led us to this point. Why would anyone suggest to keep doing the same stuff we've been doing and that got us in this mess in the first place? Most of the major countries of the world are currently led by the global right. Climate change is something that will affect us all, whether you are in Zimbabwe or America. More specific to America, we also have major issues with wealth and income inequality, a fractured justice system for people of color (#AhmaudArbery), the continued normalization of Islamophobia, and many other issues. The one thing that binds all those differing issues? That only the global left even tries to find solutions, even if they are not always the right solutions. The right doesn't even acknowledge that problems exists let alone look for answers.

Just last week I was talking to a black coworker of mine and he says to me "Thats why I say you act white. We (blacks) have been through slavery, ain't no recession gonna scare us." Although I don't agree with him, he does have a point.

The 80% of Americans who only own 10% of the wealth don't have much to lose. Middle class Americans are already living check to check, with no safety net. Half of them are already practically starving. Its the millionaires who will see their net worths drop by 35%. Try telling a billionaire he just lost 350 million dollars. This is why the right wing is so butthurt about the quarantine, the CDC, and WHO. They want us to risk our lives to save their wallets.
