Like CrimsonAvenger, I'll wait until it's official before celebrating but I reckon zimfan1 sounds pretty confident.

It's actually really hard to put together a Test XI now because there's talent being left out.

There's a few other combinations you could try too. Swap M Waller for Tiripano if you didn't want 3 seamers (or Chatara if you want more batting depth). PJ Moor for Chakabva is a possibility.

Could always bring back Mawoyo to open, put Raza down the order and drop Musakanda. Likewise, maybe Mire could open in Tests.

Exciting times ahead.

In fairness its time to do away with the Tiripano experimenting & put a wicket taking bowling like Chisoro,Mumba, Welly Masakadza or even Madziva..

You know what the best thing about this KJ return is?

That he volunteered to leave Lancs by asking them to release him. For 4 years, he has has maintained "fuck no, I wouldn't go back if my left arm depended on it" and now he actually wants to come back. He tossed an entire season of guaranteed salary and benefits. He's not just coming back because he has no better option left.

HHM/pariah...surely, there is no way you can gloss over that fact. The ZC Pakistani in less than 6 months in charge has brough the two most talented ZIM players post-2004 back. The ZC black leadership has managed to chase away Cremer, Williams, Price, Ervine Jr, Taylor, and Jarvis. And thats not including guys like Ballance, Byrom, or Welch.

You are comparing +2 to -6 and can't figure out which is more.

Regardless of anything, the white community contains 80% of the cricketing talent in 10% of the players of that color. You get whites back, the team is that much stronger. Period.

Great news. Getting 8/9 white players in a squad is going to be very tricky although I don't believe we are there just yet. Malcolm Waller and PJ can easily and quite fairly be straight swaps and Burl and Nathan Waller are still knocking on the door but don't deserve to be in just yet.

I think the next thing we should focus on is actually getting Vitori bowling legally again. He can be devastating on his day. his ban should be up in a few months. This next Logan cup due to start soon might be the most competitive and exciting we have had in a while. when was the last time we had this many players genuinely competing for a national spot? as well the rising stars coming back and showing us that they didn't just waste 5 months of their time? interesting times ahead.

Also I have to agree that failure to qualify for the world cup with these 2 guys would be a massive disappointment. Afghanistan kept on edging us 3-2 so surely getting supposedly world class players should put us back in contention especially at home as well. they are only 2 points ahead of us as well. A lot of money has been paid and unusually long contracts given to BT and Jarvis so we should expect world class performances in return. its only fair. its time to produce the results now. crazy how 6 months can change the whole equation and expectations.

I'd open with Raza as brmtaylor.com admin quoted elsewhere, and relieve both the makeshift openers to get to their comfort zones. Mire at 6 is an exciting prospect, may be in seaming conditions. Williams the batsman needs to do more to keep his spot for much longer as one 100 and a 50 in 14 innings is nothing to write home about. If not Mire, Waller and Moor could be fighting for that number 6 spot too, with their aggressive approach based on form. Also in as cover is Musakanda. We need to blood him in the squad as he seems to have that X factor in him. If Taylor keeps, Waller / Musakanda in for Chakabva.

If you're measuring the Pakistani from a player perspective, then ZC losing Jongwe, while not using Wellington, Panyangara and Chisoro under his watch, is a way bigger downside than the upside of the return of Taylor and Jarvis. Three of those four have genuine world class stats in formats, with the youngster Jongwe extremely impressive. So the ZC Pakistani has regressed in my view. Targetting Jarvis and Taylor, as opposed to Byrom and Welch(if they were within reach), is even more stupid business/sporting sense from him.
