If you have just one pacer in your XI, and you have him to be Mpofu, this can only be explained as extreme favoritism. Not calling up Chatara is criminal if they knew about Jarvis's injury.

Chatara should have been picked but I guess coz Williams is not feeling well the balance would have been affected.

On paper Chisoro should be a better bowler than Williams . I'm more concerned about PJ stepping up

Yeah, but I was referring to Chatara being the only pacer replacing Mpofu if we were going in with just one. would have been more potent.

All the links seem to be down. Sonyliv.com were streaming the 1st Test but they are down and I can't find any others

We've got some real problems in this game. We can't expect Chisoro to make a huge impact on debut (if he does it's a bonus). Mpofu hasn't taken a Test wicket in how many years? Williams not playing. So basically it's down to Cremer to shoulder all of the load...

I think this game has been lost on paper already. With Jarvis/Williams out it would have been better to go with the 7-4 lineup - bring in Chinouya and Chisoro. (or better yet, draft in Chatara)
