James Bruce certainly has promise as a bowler, but I agree that he needs to play more domestic cricket before getting a Zimbabwe A chance. Anyone have any news on Pro50 scheduling for this year?

Manuze is having a top game hope he goes on to three figures seems to be a player improving every game he plays and by reports ( gargamal I think ) he’s a good bloke too

Interesting that James Bruce hasn’t bowled an over in the 2nd innings maybe it’s because the pitch suits the spinners? But it’s odd that he also didn’t bowl in the 2nd innings of the last match either.

Either way if he’s going to play for the A side he really needs to be bowling more

Agreed.
Manuze certainly looks like one to keep an eye on.
Hope he and young Maruma can be a couple of new exciting prospects to focus on. Kazuza train needs to keep up its momentum as well

Regis 120* off 100 rocks. He really is starting to show alot of promise. I wish I could watch the first class games! We need to just stick with him for a while, and by the looks of it just fine tune his already good keeping.

Question: why did #10 and 11 come in before Regis in this innings. So weird lol, reverse card or 2 night watchmen I can't think of anything, any help appreciated.

I remember people saying that this first class season was going to be crap and full of <180 scores and whatever. Brighten up! Some positives, even though this round is a bit short of top tier players.

Chigumbura is now a shadow of his former self. Perhaps he should just stick to the short format stuff or better still go into coaching. Its just not happening for him.

Waller with four 6's and no 4's, odd. Showing his promise.

Brilliant again by Mutombodzi and Regis. These two need to kick on now and get into the national side on a regular basis. It's great that these two are firing

Very surprised that Mutombodzi is not on the A tour.

People think being a middle order batsman is easy. It's much simpler than top order, but it also has its demands. I don't think there's a better middle order bat in ZIM now than Mutombodzi.

In fact, he could possible be the best since Taibu

I know Raza has done well, but he's a top order batsman and ZIM lost 1-0 because he failed miserably in the 1st Test while Mpofu excelled with the bat, but did well in a 2nd Test but even Cremer did well too. Plus his strike rotation for someone who batted in the middle order and was in and settled, was very very poor or non-existent. Very unlike a number 6.

If you recall, Moor actually batted better alongside Hami in the 1st innings than he did alongside Raza in the 2nd innings. In fact, the only time Raza actually looked good was when he batter with Cremer in the 1st innings.

One would be forgiven for arguing that Raza actually put pressure on Malcolm and Regis.

If one digs deeper, one may actually find that Cremer's single useful contribution in that match as captain was to instruct Raza to bat a bit more aggressively in that 2nd test's first innings, because he was the in batsman. I really don;t rate Raza in the middle. He must open.

But back to Mutombodzi, he's highly underrated for a middle order batsman in ZIM. Why I don't know.
