I can bet all my life savings on the fact that Pakistan won't survive more than ten years from now. It's all doldrums there, it was never meant to be long standing state anyways as it was specifically designed for the muslim elites to launder money and for the British to do their usual shenanigans that they've done all over the world. Also about the tournament format I agree hundred percent, we all know that one of the big 5 countries will win it at the end. Every cup of every sport has a particular set of favourites. That's a given. The beautiful part of sport and tournament are the shocks, stories and competitiveness. This current format serves none of these criterias. For a wc to be exciting you need to have crunch matchups from the first day only. Imagine if it was a group of four and south africa lost to the dutch, we would be discussing their elimination by now.
