He had gone to Uni in Australia if I'm not mistaken.
That means he's jacked it in after only a year.
The most he'd played was some Zim club cricket. He must have attended these trials and impressed.

His ban is a ban from professional/official/paid cricket. Remember the statement said he was ‘instructed to train under the high performance programme in the meantime’ - which I presume this falls under

Wessly's ban might be blessing. Perhaps he can focus on his technique and get back into some form away from competitive cricket. He is a talented player that has been thrown in the deep end much too often. I hope we don't make the same mistake with Brian Bennett.

You can't compare the 2 players, it's not only talent it's mindset as well. Maybe Bennett is stronger mentally, the term throw them into the deep end is used way too much on these forums.
