Questions made by chatara is logical here.
This shows what members here like SZ and Googly have been saying, that the selection is not exactly biased based on colour, but it is biased based on ZC's own preferences. A lot of black players are also probably hard done by, like Nyauchi.

Tbh there is no way someone like Nyamhuri should have been fast tracked into the side, although I agree that he has got potential. He needed more time at domestic level.

Is he getting three times the money or are ZC saving three times the money?
He was also in charge of that u25 tour to UK and had most of the say in that selection as well. Presumably he's also the u19 selector. It's clear that he can and probably does veto Mutendira. So essentially Nyamhuri and Gwandu came thru his academy. He can't be ever-present at his academy (where is it and what is it?) because he has multi roles, and when he's not doing all of this stuff he's giving one on one coaching to the Takas boys and advising them of the dangers of the sinister Rhodesian cabal that occupies most of their spare time. Our very own Che Guevara.

Either he's grossly overworked, possibly being groomed for our next Director or it's smoke and mirrors and not a lot is actually happening.
Who is the current Director?

Don't forget that was a head to head between Elton and Steve as to who's players went overseas and get picked for national duty. If you were ever in doubt as to who the clear winner was. The blunder was completely emasculating Mangongo. If you want to keep your people on their toes you keep them at each other's throats because they will keep working hard and keep snitching on each other. That's the most basic rule of divide and rule.

At keast its not whites with a problem with the selectors..A good reporter should go to ICC with these findings and ask questions..

Well i was wrong about ZC trying to keep this quiet. Zolsky has come out swinging. Again the accusation is that the Rhodesians are excited about this development. Nothing could be further from the truth, they're not interested nor excited, it's just more groans of despair that things are dire. Everyone wants cricket to be run smoothly and well and transparently. 99% of the people not liking how it's going are black Zimbabweans, the Rhodesians are long dead or have lost interest. Address the 1000's of black fans and not the 5 Rhodesians that still occasionally watch cricket, they are just nodding their heads knowingly with - I told you so
People want a ZC media guy that answers questions without constantly talking about Rhodesian conspiracies and how ZC are so busy defending against a coup. Jeez that's getting old.
If there was nothing to hide, the questions would be easy to answer.

Personally I think Chatara's ill-advised rant had some merit, probably less so for himself than his ex-friend Nyauchi who clearly has issues after his confrontation with Masakadza.

Chatara thought that he still had a shout at national selection, and why not, he's got plenty of time left and he's definitely our best swing bowler when he's fit and firing. Obviously he was triggered by the realisation that he was out of the loop and was talking to Nyauchi who he knew would also be feeling hard done by. The motivation for recording that is truly baffling. What is telling is that he assumes that there's a job waiting for him after 15 years. It was probably true and he's going to have to try and mend some fences, and he's now in long shot territory. It's exposed the whole jobs for the boys thing that is a huge part of our problem. He also forgets that he himself kept getting selected when he was unfit and not bowling well, further exposing the selection bias, which is now working against him. It further exposes that if you happen to be in favor do you need to be at your best and wanting to win? I think this is a major issue in our team. The issue seems to be doing just enough personally for reselection. That attitude has to go immediately!!!

One of the big takeaways from this surely has to be that probably our most successful bowler ever and a 15 year veteran doesn't think he has a channel to express his worries and be told honestly what's in store for him now and in the future. That's a big wake up call for any white boy that thinks he might get a fair crack of the whip.

I was told this the other day but didn’t think it was my place to spread. There are a lot of other players siding with these two, which the article fails to mention.

Chatara has some good points regarding the corrupt and biased selection. The people he called out and all that.
The only thing I disagree is he is kidding himself if he thinks he rightly deserves a future in national colours.
He is injury plagued, his pace has dropped, he has crumbled under pressure in big games. His fielding and batting is non existent.
He might not be worse than whoever our third bowler is, but he is no better. He is a fading asset and therefore should not be invested in further, he should have retired at the conclusion of the 2023 WC campaign. Even then that’s generous because he was not the same after that injury a couple years earlier. His legacy was tainted, although from job security reasons I can understand. But he can’t be mad at not being picked.
He has value at domestic level though. Just not national. Nit to mention, we do have an age situation in our national side.

I think the last bit applies to all players. We have had players who have done well for so long being overlooked one really questions why they even Play the FC cricket. Perhaps its a questions of playing whilst looking for whatever gig pops up abroad. This is not a question of cricket alone but Zimbabwe in general. The only reason why people hang around solely remains on how much ZC is paying them like what Chats says he would still be happy with his current contract. It would be interesting to see the number of players who have left at 26/27 years old.

He just got a 5 fer.

I have really enjoyed how he wants to win the title. Good to see players wanting things like that, regrardless of the reasons

He's bowled really well.

I said a couple of days ago, before I was aware of this controversy, that he remains the most skilled swing bowler in the country. That's undoubtedly true. I think he has a lot to offer in red ball cricket, and wouldn't be disappointed to see him play test cricket this year.
