Re: Afg A V Zim A OD Series
Final match of the tour. Zimbabwe A won the toss and elected to field. Good for me as I can now get a chance to see Zim bat after finishing my workplace commitments. Playing XI:
Chakabva-Kasuza,
Sibanda-Maruma,
Mutombodzi-Mamhiyo,
Gumbie-Mupariwa,
Nyumbu-Mufudza,
Nyauchi
Mupariwa draws the first blood. Hold on he scalps skipper Ahmadi too. 12/2

And now 12-3, as Nyauchi gets a wicket... get there early doc, or you may miss the match!
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Afg all out for 175 in the 46th over. Mufudza again among the wkts (4/37), Mams got 2 and Mupariwa had a dream spell of 7-4-3-2

Those last 3 wickets were part of a hattrick for Mufudza. Congratulate him when you go there!

I just meant that they would be paying the owners of the ground the expenditure of hosting day night matches, right? That is an amazing investment. Or may be the Indian government might be taking care of that, as a goodwill gesture. Either way, good to see.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:I am not sure if Afg invested in the floodlights.
Hmm, that explains it.BMCAtreasurer wrote:An oversight from the hosts, did not get ICC approval in time.
True.Kriterion_BD wrote:Its cuz they are Asian and cricket is all we have. It still amazes me that Bangladesh can host world cups and form a competitive cricket team yet we can even build a bridge in our country without fucking it up and/or skimming money from it.

Kasuza out on the second ball of the innings. 1/1.
Wasn't he supposed to be the next big thing, at one stage?

Still only 22, so there may be time yet.Ming wrote:Kasuza out on the second ball of the innings. 1/1.

However, I have heard that his attitude and fitness have left something to be desired...

They have even handed out MoM awards in these matches. Mufudza getting it yesterday. But ZC might think twice before engaging with Afg again, which is a shame. We must play more and more with these guys and IRL to have a hard look at our own progress once in a while.
