I think this says more about how we train players and their mentality, as opposed to county cricket.eugene wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 6:02 pmCurran looks a bit out of his depth to be honest. He struggles to rotate the strike and score at a decent rate. Yet again we are seeing that county cricket is no preparation for international cricket. The list of players we have seen plucked from country cricket and then struggle internationally for us is not a short one.

Team never changes after a win so we can only hope they deliver again tomorrow. How many times have we won after batting first in Harare?
Bennett so far looks like one of those players who will punish you if you don't get him out early. I was expecting a few of them to improve after facing Pakistan and Afghanistan. Ireland with all due respect don't have the same quality with the ball so if you are struggling against them then we have to wonder if you can step up against the bigger teams.
Playing a terrible shot happens but you can't look out of your depth against these guys and expect to have a long career. So hopefully a few more of them get some big scores. Wes, Bennett and Welch have done so. Let's see if Maru, Ben and Campbell can get some runs
Newman is a tough one. There is clearly something there but he is learning on the job. I get him being around the team and getting games but if they really want him to develop then I think for example they should let him go play Canada after the ODIs. He barely has any domestic experience but at the same time he was in the UK for months last year with that development team and played some quality games there. It's a tough choice.
