Welly will go unnoticed here but great pressure and containing creating opportunities for the bowlers on the other end! He is a great servant of the nation!
He won't be unnoticed by the selectors
Almost MoM performance
Bit wobbly with the ball and in the field but job done. Bennett doing that at 21 bodes so well for the future. Ervine showed his class. Wellington with the ball, didn't take a wicket but 10 overs for 40 runs defending 300 is gold dust. Muzarabani as always put in a good shift, bit untidy but he got the job done.
We can't take our foot off their throat now, need to get that second win next game and get a damn series win under the belt.
Curran looking poor. Old county reject not living up to the hype, he’s had enough innings now to prove himself and save for that 68 in the first Afghan test he hasn’t. If he was called wez guys would be saying drop him after this dismal run
That was a horrific from raza, super scratchy 8. Ended up on the deck twice swinging and missing then went for 54 with the ball.

Cant blame him for eventually coming in at 4, but he should never have been penned as a 6.
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:
FULL NAME: Angus James Mackay
BORN: 13 June 1967, Harare
KNOWN AS: Gus Mackay
Curran looks a bit out of his depth to be honest. He struggles to rotate the strike and score at a decent rate. Yet again we are seeing that county cricket is no preparation for international cricket. The list of players we have seen plucked from country cricket and then struggle internationally for us is not a short one.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
I'll give Curran a few more chances. Probably the rest of this series and then if he is still struggling then probably N Welch can get his chance.
Jono Campbell didn't get much of a chance today, but I would like to see him bat higher than Raza. He can probably bat at 4, Madhevere at 5 and Sikki at 6.
Agree with Wellington bowling well, but then they've got so many all rounders. Madhevere once again showed he is more than capable of bowling 5-6 overs and the same can be said about Bennett and Campbell can also bowl (or Burl if he replaces Campbell in future) . So ideally Wellington's place could go to a batter, may be like Myers, Burl or Kaitano. I know it's not a popular opinion because welly is doing well, it's just that I want a deeper batting line up and I feel Welly is a bit redundant in the team.
