Zimdoggy is 100% correct about the Nick Welch situation, his focus is on country cricket at the moment and trying to see what doors will open up England wise. I am sure he was trying to avoid any conflict when speaking to John.

In regards to Murray, family members have told me quite clearly that he will not be playing for Zimbabwe/Domestically until things change in terms of the administration/organisation on the ground.

However I think it is great that Nick Welch is back in Zimbabwe playing cricket, will benefit everyone involved.

What’s happened so drastically to make Ryan Murray make a complete 180? I find it really odd that he was willing to play in 2018 in the midst of player disputes, yet now there’s more money in the pot and the administration are evidently trying to turn things around he isn’t interested..?
Also, are they that stupid to think this administration will ever change? In 2019 they had a golden opportunity to get rid and the board very much entrenched themselves.
I don’t know the family or Ryan but I think they need to get with it and recognise the time for change has come and gone. Get in the red, Don the gloves and score that test century he told me about

As for Nick, you really can't blame a guy if he has talent but gets overlooked for unfair reasons. Who is the Ebrahim kid? It's also not the first time that an incident in which a father has money has paid for his sons way in to the team. It's happened many times before to people I know and has happened to me too.

To be perfectly honest, this Zimbabwe side could look incredible on paper. If all players were available and ready to play we’d be a serious side. Imagine a team of Byrom, Welch and Muyeye, as a starting point.

I don’t blame the likes of Murray and Welch looking elsewhere. ZC is so unreliable. Just look at the 2017 period, when Jarvis and Taylor came back from their counties. All was sunshine and rainbows until we crashed out of the CWCQ’s, and then it went tits up again. We’re one bad loan repayment or one bad selection away from being back to square one.

Welch, Byrom, Muyeye, Ballance, Evans, Murray, Lake...the list is endless, but why would they want to play in a set up like this?

When I say he is making a mistake I’m not saying they didn’t screw him over. I’m looking at his options and thinking in terms of a cricket career ZC might be his best option. If they are then you don’t want to let your emotions overpower your intelligence.

Look at somebody like Raza and how they were on his case at a certain point. He even got dropped if I remember correctly. He looked at his options and got on with it and now he can use ZC as a platform to get T20 gigs around the world.

Once you go to war with these guys just know the journey back is a long one unless you are as good as BT. Whatever the issue is you have to realize these guys are going nowhere. So if they annoy so much that you would rather not play for your country at all than deal with them then so be it. Just have a better option on the table

Sometimes you have to suck it in and get on with it. You think BT wants to be there after everything? They don’t even want him there too.

you do make alot of sense in a way and as i've said before, i often find myself nodding in agreement, including this one.
That said however, you do have that defeatist mindset that most of the players have.

if they rose as one, they could change it all. like googly used to say.

Too many people in zim cricket are just appreciative of having some cheese sprinkled on their small portion of rice, and are thankful because others just have the rice only.
