I'm inclined to agree. The question is how good are the Scot bowlers. This is definitely not a 300 pitch.

Certainly one of the most strange and interesting sporting stories, even before that blow to his head, he was a weird dude.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:19 amIt was just after he made his Test comeback, so I remember congratulating him on that and chatting for a minute or so about an A tour he was part of. He was happy to talk, he's obviously had lots of trouble in his life but at in that interaction he came across as a nice bloke.sloandog wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:14 amWhat was he likebrmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:11 am
I met Vermeulen when I went to the cricket in Zim, he was sitting at one of the tables outside the Centurion bar.
Did some bizarre stuff, burning down the academy and still getting back into the National side was quite the accomplishment

My best was him getting what he thought was a shit LBW and walking off the field with all the stumps tucked under his arm.

Yeah it's so strange. Like ZC in the late 00s, with all of the racial stuff that was going on... if there was ever going to be a guy for them to make an example out of, it would be the white guy who literally tried to burn HQ down.jaybro wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:22 amCertainly one of the most strange and interesting sporting stories, even before that blow to his head, he was a weird dude.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:19 amIt was just after he made his Test comeback, so I remember congratulating him on that and chatting for a minute or so about an A tour he was part of. The fact that they didn't hold that grudge and he was welcomed back into the set up is actually something ZC should get a lot of praise for, it was a pretty big thing of them to do that.

230 is too low. I think 260 gives you a chance. Scotland have a good attack but you need a Sri Lanka kind of attack to defend 230 because you have to take 10 wickets.

Would like to see us squeeze another couple from Wellington, he's very economical today.
We certainly don't want the legend coming back on to leak his customary 40 runs at the death.

He was also one of the only white players that didn’t strike with the rebels, apart from BT who wasn’t even in national team yet.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:25 amYeah it's so strange. I always found that odd, and that it probably proved he was a loner. He certainly didn’t seem to be ‘in with’ the blacks, his comments later in his career that ultimately ended his career showed that.
So many odd things he did

The brain is a delicate thing. A small glitch and it has big repercussions.

I've always been sceptical that Vermeulen always did what he did because of the supposed brain damage.
