Not easy supporting these dudes. Tranquillisers, meditation and calming walks are the order of the day.
I think it’s a time thing. However I think there’s so much grace period before the clock starts, I’m not sure what though.Googly wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 5:40 amWhat's the story with Chivanga? He went off injured for about 10 overs I think. If he comes back on does he have to wait the 10 overs to bowl, or is it a time thing, in which case he could bowl immediately?
If he's injured can we swap like for like and could nyauchi come on?
I didn't realise how badly we were in the shit until they were 35-5 and probably still in the driving seat

No, the only way we could swap like for like is a concussion sub. He’s passed the concussion test when he came back out so this is a regular injury and no substitutions.
I’m no doctor though, maybe there’s such a thing as delayed onset concussion that he could claim, who knows
Interestingly when a concussion sub was being discussed yesterday the commentators included Masakadza in the options. I’d always thought it was genuine like for like, ie. seam for seam. Either they’re clueless or it’s simply a bowler for a bowler irrespective of their style.
Agreed, Madande and Bennett need some time before they can be drafted into the test side. I think J Campbell would do better than Bennett in tests for now and Madande can be replaced either by Madhevere or just about anyone... May be Chari, or I Kaia or anyone doing good at domestic level.zimfan1 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 9:49 pmFeel we are learning about a couple of guys in this match.
Gumbie clearly has the ability and the game to open in tests, as well as Prince has done a partnership between Innocent Kaia and Gumbie would be a good bet moving forwards.
I know he was a bit lucky but Myers as I have said before has more grit, steel and determination than Wes, Marumani and Madande put together. If you compare the mental side of their games, Myers is in a different time zone to Madande.
Bennett looks short of the technique for tests at the moment, perhaps may be best letting him concentrate on white ball cricket in the near future.
The months without matches clearly works for Williams but not for Ervine, however I think Ervine has captained well in this match.
I would stick some money on Ireland if I was a betting man.
