[Match Thread] 1st ODI: SL V ZIM

Post by Detective RDS »

I miss Madziva & Mumba in ODIs. Ngarava hasn't grabbed his chance.

Guess Chari will be back again in the mix if the batsmen don't score enough in SL tour. Youngsters like Moor, Burl, Musakanda need to score. Seniors like H Masakadza & Chibhabha will be under pressure to score as well.

I still remember Chigumbura's 7 sixes innings of 54 against Ind in Harare. Although Chigumbura's current form is a concern, do you think his subcontinent experience could have been handy ? He has an ODI 100 in Pak.

Who should open with Mire ? H Masakadza/Raza/Musakanda/Burl/Chibhabha ?

Not to deal with white or black, its scoring that matters. Ryan Burl & Musakanda whenever got chance to play, they faced tough situation, its better to give the young stars some opportunity, in conditions with less pressure, Masakadza failed, Moor failed, better to try Burl at the openning position with Mire, a left right combo. Management tried so much combinations, its better to test now a young star at opening slot.

Musakanda, has the quality to play both as defensive and attacking its better to give him a go at number 4 to bat freely.

1. H Masakadza (for subcontinent experience)
2. Mire
3. C Ervine
4. Williams
5. Moor (WK) (floater, if 3 wickets are out within 30 overs, he will come at 5, otherwise Raza at 5)
6. Raza
7. Waller
8. Chibhabha
9. Cremer (C)
10. Chatara
11. Mpofu

During 30-50 overs, Raza, Waller & Chibhabha are my hitters.

If Sri Lanka can drop Chandimal cause of lack of form surely Zim could drop Moor but then again he could be the new team mascot.

You are comparing a superstar with the one who had just began his career. Moor is new, youngsters deserve some time and he has done not too bad, his contemporary Chakabva, Mutumbami has given many chances, but failed to do even half of what Moor did.

Your Correct statement would have been "If Sri Lanka can drop Chandimal cause of lack of form surely Zim could drop Hamilton Masakadza "

He is just a big useless in the team, getting chance just for being senior and experience

Hamilton Masakadza has enough experience, now only one thing he needs to do us follow AB Develliers and retire from the game, leave the place to the youth.

Take Chibhabha either at 1 or 8, he will still be unable to score a ton, if he plays 100 matches more :D
