ZIM-BD-SL Tri Series 2018: Pre-series Discussion
Re: ZIM-BD-SL Tri Series 2018: Pre-series Discussion
You have long been anti-Ervine, even though he has had multiple landmark innings and led us to many victories.

Conant is anti Irvine and Jarvis, but would like to hear his alternatives. It’s odd that the exact reason for Williams’ exclusion has not become public knowledge. I really like Tari, that lad has a lot of potential.

Ervine definitely has a weakness to pace and edges behind frequently especially early on in his innings.
They were showing stats yesterday and surprisingly, Taylor averages 44 vs spin and 33 vs pace. I don't know what the figures would be for other players, but I would hazard a guess that BT's 44 is one of the better ODI averages against spin.
Although I think its a good idea to see Murray in the squad, I think Tary would have been a better choice overall.
I'm not really sure I would have Williams in my XI anymore. Hami, Mire, Taylor, Raza would all walk into the side before Willy. Ervine would too although his recent form doesn't show it. Cremer, Chatara, Jarvis would take the bowling quotas. Leaving 3 spots which are now occupied by Blessing, Waller, and Moor. Blessing is specialist bowler, so Williams couldn't replace him. Moor has a lot of fight, whereas Williams has almost none. Waller is perhaps the one guy you could swap Williams with in the current XI. But even then, I'd prolly take Tarisai over Williams given that Tari is so young and has 12-15 years return on the same investment as Williams.

Conant probably wants Tymcen Maruma in the side

Sniffing some pariah scents with conant
Indian and English cricket is a cult and bazball is delusional and embarrassing. Bumrah chucks it, Cummins has a shocking seam position, stokes is a fraud. Bangladesh shouldn’t have test status, Bradman was a coat.Marco Jansen is good, zim will rise !

Personal attacks even after hhm is dealt with? What has this come down to? Guys, it's ridiculous to compare Conant to hhm. You're not thinking straight. Just because someone disagrees, it does not mean you take that to the extreme.
Someone criticizing an Ervine or a Jarvis does not mean that he is automatically vouching for a Maruma or whoever. Let's keep things sensible.

For those of us that have been around here for long enough: conant and hhm / pariah are very different beasts.
Amd enough with the personal attacks / namecalling unless you want to join hhm on the banned list.
