Great point by Tino. Teams used to arrive here early and play warm up games. That’s where up and coming guys would get a shot.

He smoked that, should have been taken though, he wasn’t that close. A life. These guys are batting like it’s an ODI, but they’re also being served some pies.

Great run-rate but they'll be all out for less runs and earlier in the match at this rate

I wonder where all the t20 merchants from the 1st test are??

Really need these guys to bat a long long time, which I'm not sure they will, our middle order all look much more comfortable against spin, which is unfortunate since Raza just took out Embuldenyia

If Raza bats long it means he’s sick. I guess there’s a first for everything.
That ball he just got down leg was a gimme. Top batters tickle that for 4 all day long. It’s the higher one that gets under your armpit that causes problems.
Chawaguta has some knowledge, slowly making his way up that ladder in the Mason’s Lodge.

Williams always looks like he’s had about 4 lines of coke and has also gotten his laughing gear around some particularly vile chewing tobacco.
Their keeper has a whole routine as well. Twitchers, the lot of them.

He looked better than the other times, the run rate crowd will be very pleased in this.

At least we are not 154 for 0 at the end of day 1

Hamilton say we have a few A side cricket coming up!

He is still chewing his words
The A side cricket is against Derbyshite and Durham if they arrive. That was probably arranged by AC and Streaky. ZC had zip to do with that and now Masakadza almost claimed it as theirs, but he choked

Williams has got that little jump to leg against anything back of a length, it’s not a good look.

We cricket fans really are a fickle bunch. If the scoring is slow everyone is on the batters' backs for not keeping the scorecoard ticking over; whenever someone gets out to a ball that's not unplayable or that he could have left alone it's a "stupid shot" or he "should have left it". It's a difficult game out there, and if our lads where world class they would average between 40-50, not 25-35.

Before the forum completely disintegrates into factions of "stonewallers" vs. "T20 specialists" ;) we should apply a bit more common sense and realism. Williams will never give us a grand majestic, chanceless 200 from 270 balls; and from what I've seen of him, Masvaure will not score many boundaries if he doesn't slash at wide deliveries.

I don't think any of the dismissals today--and not many in the other Test--were down to a particular defensive or aggressive mindset.
