The first world quacks just need to say "this old fat f%$ has got scabies, head lice, pin worm and early onset river blindness and administer five 3c tablets, charge the NHS £200 for the consult, the pharmacy sells it for £25 thus making 33000% profit and everyone is happy. Worst case is the patient dies of covid, but worm free and his head doesn't itch.

It will never be possible to accurately measure fatality rates because its impossible to measure the number of covid cases, particularly in Third World countries where most go untested and unreported. The rate constantly changes anyway, varies from country to country, with age, with co-morbidities etc etc.
I've had friends get really sick and a couple have died. These are people I know personally. I still don't believe in lockdowns, whilst a percentage of people continue to
ignore instructions Covid won't be contained. Australia and NZ for example seem to have done well, but that ain't happening ever in a Third World country or many others. We have to learn to live with it, end of story.
If you guys out there aren't seriously questioning what's going on then that's proper sheep mentality.
You cannot shut the world down for years because it may kill 0.5%(or whatever it is) of the population. If you're high risk then isolate and hope it blows over or there's an effective vaccine you can take coming your way. If you think everyone needs to be vaccinated then you don't understand the concept of vaccines or the problem. You can shut it down for 6 months, but we're heading into year 2 and the people with a spine want to live. If the world was taken over by aliens and we all had to live underground like the movies, there would be groups that figured out how to get about without dying up top, I'm one of those guys. If the alien lazer scorches me then so be it.
Cancer will probably get you in the end, but nobody is screaming for results on cancer cures, yet a particularly virulent flu-like virus that you have a 99% (at least) chance of surviving is enough of a reason to change the course of human history? If you're lucky enough to live a long life you don't die of old age, you weaken and something gets you, Alzheimers, cancer, heart etc etc. The death certificate doesn't say old age. If a lion escapes from a zoo, catches you walking down the street, f$#s you up the arse until your nose bleeds and then unceremoniously eats you and you happen to be Covid positive then take a wild guess what your death certificate reads.
Take a teaspoon of cement and live your lives.

In SA Dlamini Zuma stopped booze and cigarette sales. Take another wild guess who is the King Pin of illicit alcohol and cigarette sales? Pfizer may end up owning the Western World and China the rest of it.

Let's list the number of active cricketers that have had covid and who've subsequently died.
Either shut the world down completely or open it up. You can't be half pregnant. If you're a bit scared wear two masks like Fauci suggested, one mask worked really well.

UK really messed up without having hotel quarantine Sloandog. Having a lockdown but still allowing international flights is like allowing pissing in the shallow end of the pool.

What do you teach Sloandog?

Here's the latest Danish study on mask efficacy

https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2020111 ... rotect-you

Their study showed a 16% lesser risk if you wore those blue paper ones which I like to use. Basically not enough of a difference to be statistically significant. The researchers were reluctant initially to release the results. No wonder Fuckcheese recommends 2

Other studies are way more optimistic.
Yeah I'll wear a mask in a public building just because it feels like the right thing to do and I'll put one on in the car driving on my own when approaching a police road block manned by c&$#s wanting to charge me $50 in case I infect myself.

The best way to figure out the real cases is to use the deaths and work backwards. If the death rate is 2% then there is no way you can be having 30 deaths a day but only 300 case like what is being reported here. It’s more likely to be 1500 cases. It’s impossible to test everybody when they say more than half the people who get it have no symptoms or very light symptoms

Anyway back to the cricket. If they have to quarantine for 2 weeks when they get back does that mean the players will go straight into another bubble from Oman? The Pakistan series is more important for me. They have to make it work. Bubble fatigue must be a real thing. That will be almost 3 months without seeing your family. Ireland are supposed to come too

Maybe we will have a bit more normality by then because no-one can continue like this. The cops were at Arundel Spar today arresting all and sundry and fining shop owners and there was general mayhem. I guess a warm up for Borrowdale in the next couple of days.
I do not see a 3 month bubble happening.
Pakistan pumped SA, its going to be untidy viewing.

Damn @Googly, it's like you don't understand how science works. The one strategy you do well is make so many posts one after the other, but there's so much being said, yet not said, it's hard to discuss all of the points/non points you make.

The reason you have a 14 day quarantine is because, as has been proven in a lot of cases, symptoms do not show up straight away nor does the virus. You may not have it on arrival, but you may develop COVID a day or two after arrival. The 14 day quarantine ensures you are not in the community whilst asymptomatic and possibly transferring the disease.

Your mate who went to Addis tested positive, travelled, then came back and was negative. That is how this shit works. It is not a case of once you are positive, you are positive for life. What your friend did though was travel whilst infectious and who knows who he transferred it on to and how they are coping.

A shut down is not done because it may kill 0.5% A shut down is done so that it does not kill much much more than 0.5%. As the great old shit show that is America has shown, staying open and continuing as normal does not work. All of the anti-maskers and 'virus hoaxes' have allowed numbers to sky rocket. Many of those people contracted the virus and died from it too. Lets not forget Sweden, which tried your herd mentality, and has now over half a million cases and 11k deaths.

Let's also not forget that your idea that this is all a hoax and part of a conspiracy would mean that more than 200 nations made up of liberals, socialists, communists, dictators etc etc, who all by the way hate each other over the simplest of shit, would all have to be in on this "coordinated convoluted hoax".

You said it, Aus and NZ have done well. We are operating as normal. We go about our daily lives without masks, going to work, travelling, using gyms, eating out. Yes we still follow social distancing where possible and practice healthy hygiene, although to be fair, those two are not really pandemic specific rules. Those are just general hygiene practices taught to you as a child. So if the rest of the world stopped carrying on like babies and trying to prove hoaxes and crying "sheeple", then maybe you could get back to the normal life you cry about quicker.

A lockdown’s main purpose is to SLOW transmission down so that the number of vulnerable people who need to go to the ICU is kept to a minimum. People are still getting heart attacks, or shot in the chest and if all the beds are full of COVID patients there won’t be room for non-COVID patients.

Condoms aren’t a conspiracy to make sex for everyone less enjoyable...it’s to make whatever sex people are having safer.
