Thats what I've said
Re: ZC Corruption Scandal - Heath Streak
I mean, sometimes you can understand a confession as part of a bargain but 8 years is close enough to life. It isn't a Shakib sentence.
Re: ZC Corruption Scandal - Heath Streak
Yeah, maybe. First reports may be refined in time.
Re: ZC Corruption Scandal - Heath Streak
Some people on the Rhodi FB Groups close to the Streaks reckon he is innocent.
Time will tell if this is serious delusion or true,
but having his name in all the papers is damaging.

Re: ZC Corruption Scandal - Heath Streak
Fully expect Streak's friends and the community to strongly protest his innocence, because, well, thats what happens in Zimbabwe on all sides - insane tribalism, cliques, suspicion, and defensiveness to the max is tbh just as endemic to us whites just as much as it seems to be in blacks. And of course we are understandably suspicious of pretty much any accusations, claims, legal action etc after what the community has been through. But I think people need to remember this is coming from the ICC ACU in Dubai. Not ZC. Not SRC. Not Zanu. The ACU is well respected in recent years.
If this was one anti-corruption charge you could maybe claim his innocence. But to be charged with numerous offences relating to four separate franchise tournaments plus the Zim setup, and after a lengthy 3-year investigation by the ICC ACU (who are extremely thorough)...........and then claim to be innocent? I think that just sounds like madness. But it's understandable why people are hurt by this and their reaction is that it can't be true. Streak was loved, greatly. He's who I watched and aspired to be growing up. He was just as popular as a coach as he was a player. Also very popular in the community outside of cricket.
People jumping to his defence and refusing to believe whats happened is natural. But also crazy.

How much money does he have, like did he have to worry about retirement/old age after getting fired by ZC? Maybe it was a Walter White momentsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:27 pmFully expect Streak's friends and the community to strongly protest his innocence, because, well, thats what happens in Zimbabwe on all sides - insane tribalism, cliques, suspicion, and defensiveness to the max is tbh just as endemic to us whites just as much as it seems to be in blacks. He doesn't need money, making it even more strange. He's got a solid business going and made a lot of money from his various coaching positions
