The people claiming Streak is innocent and has been set up by ZC are blind to reality. The ACU has a good reputation and is above the games of ZC. I understand that Streak has long been viewed as representing the good of Zimbabwean cricket against the disastrous ZC, but that doesn't make him innocent of all accusations. ZC being a bunch of corrupt thieves doesn't mean Streak is above reproach. Streak can be guilty of corruption at the same time ZC is, it isn't an either/or situation.

If Heath is truly guilty of everything he has been accused of, I have no sympathy at all for him. He wasn't a young inexperienced player nor did he need the money. What makes it worse is that he was happy to expose his own players to the dark underworld of cricket corruption. Corruption is a huge blight on cricket and perpetrators need to be punished accordingly.

Woah I just saw shakib has a net worth of 36 million us dollars
No way that is true. 3.6 million sure. Unless Shakib has had a good asset manager (don't know if that exists in Bangladesh), who could 10x is wealth in 10 years that can't be right.

Shakib has played in the IPL about 10 seasons, at an average salary of probably 350K USD. Thats 3.5 million over a career. When he started his central contract with the BCB fetched him around 15K per year. Now its worth about 60K. Another 50K times 2 from the DPL and BPL. Plus international match fees, and his total pre-IPL salary per year is currently around 200-250K. He does have a lot of brand endorsements and probably a couple of side businesses in Bangladesh. Idk how much that would bring in.

If I had to estimate his net worth, it would be in the 5-10 million range, not 35 plus.

I think you’re right but it might not be out if the question.
He has a few million from cricket, may have invested in businesses or be co owners of some successful ones.
And his endorsements should be through the roof. Famous in India and the most
famous balgadeshi of all time. If it’s all gone well for him then maybe. Doubt it, but maybe.

He is NOT famous in India. Prantik Sharma is a higher rated cricketer in India than Shakib.

His endorsements in Bangladesh will be significant, yes. But I doubt he's got a net worth as high as that figure. Its definitely a few million unless he's terrible with money. But its hard to imagine tens of millions.

Streak should be banned for life to be honest. A big part of my journey as Zimbabwean cricket fan was Streak. It is a disgrace and there is no excuses whatsoever. He should be banned for life period.

Sad news indeed, very annoying that he's given oxygen thieves like Mehluli Sibanda and Frank Zolsky the ammunition they needed to death ride him, not even Streak's biggest friends and allies can defend him now, even David Colhart has gone down the 'church road' and started talking about forgiveness etc You knwo you're beat when you turn to the bible as the last resort to defence.

Forgive me for not having the time to read through all 17 pages, but can someone clear up for me exactly what he has done?

He started off meeting Agarwal and discussing the idea to bring a t20 tournament to Zimbabwe?

He then started accepting gifts for giving Agarwal 'access to players'

The access Agarwal was given was details regarding team selections

No player actually fixed a match or partook in spot fixing

Streak and Agarwal discussed how to get their stories straight and deleted messages

Streak lied initially when interviewed about Agarwal

Streak never fixed a match or attempted to get a player to fix a match

Please correct the parts I got wrong

So I've had time to think about it. It hurts because it's Heath. He was the embodiment of Zim cricket and for many of us, the first player who got us in to the game, and the team.

I wonder what went on in his mind when he thought about it. Was 2 Bitcoin and an Iphone really worth it?

What I hate about this situation is the likes of Melhuli and Zolsky jumping up and down and calling for Streak to be imprisoned, and also pulling out the race card. For one, Melhuli having a go at Adam Theofilatos for no absolute reason. It's clear there are those in ZC who are quite happy to destroy the game and other Zimbabweans for their own benefit. TM too has spoken about this in such a derogatory manner. Once again, they are not acting in the best interests of Zim cricket or the fans, but their own personal interests.

One thing that does not make sense to me is the Cremer situation. We all know Cremer approached Streak and said he was approached by a bookie. Streak told him to report it straight away. Why would Streak implicate himself? That does not make much sense to me. Surely Streak would not be so silly as to do that especially if he was responsible for the meeting.

I also don't understand how the selling of information amounts to match fixing? Perhaps it allowed bookies to make bets on who was playing or who would be, then approach those players directly, but I don't see the link to match fixing as the ICC have said no match outcomes were affected.

What Streak has done is wrong. No doubting that. He should not have done it. There are just some things that don't entirely add up.
