Me too, already leaving it for Monday or the innings breaksecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:34 amI've got so much work to do today and I just know I'm not going to get any of it done![]()
Hopefully they bat first, we bowl them out for 50 and we chase it in 5 overs.![]()

Re: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI
Also get you mate, but also we were not going to win that game if he had not bowled as tight as he did. In tests we definitely need a wicket taking spinner, but in ODIs we can get away with an economical one creating chances for the strike bowlers, just as we saw on Tuesday and Sunday to some extent.Tinah09 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:28 amI get the point you’re making but even at our lowest point, our specialist spin bowlers where always capable of breaking partnerships, taking wickets AND good economy, most recently Price, Utseya and Cremer. I think sometimes we lower our expectations to our own detriment. If your opening bowlers draw fire blanks, failure to take wickets at 2-4 bowling change will lead to your opponents having 6 odd wickets in hand going into the last 15 overs, where they will have a sufficient cushion to smack everything to the boundary and take the game away from you. If Wellington’s contribution went beyond “two tight overs” like, being capable of scoring ~20 to 30 at no. 8, his apparent failure to take wickets would be justifiableCholeZimbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:10 amClearly they didn't. Classic reading of the cricinfo score card and concludingilovearsenal04 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:00 amDid you guys see the game? Wellington was putting the pressure on and he is the tightest bowler we have, wickets came by because of the pressure he put on at the other end. The scorecard does not do him any justice but his role in the team is to not take wickets, but to ball tight none runs wielding overs.

In the victories from the last SL series, was there a chase?

From memory I think all three of our victories were chasing.CholeZimbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:44 amIn the victories from the last SL series, was there a chase?

Wow, they did drop Madhevere. Interesting.
Another lefty in the middle order while SL have brought in their offspinner.

I’m happy with the Shumba in for Wes call.
Wes is out of form and Shumba is an ideal replacement because what he can do down the order.
