I generally think 38 year olds should normally retire and let a youngster take their place, BUT.......Cephas in full flow is still a joy to watch. He's just smashed Musekiwa absolutely miles.
I agree, he is one of those players that when he gets out you feel like turning the telly off great player for the one dayers and t20s. His experience will help some of the youngsters too.
The Rhinos look like they’re going to have another wasted year, always seem to have a good side but never win anything.
Is Tari now the biggest disappointment in Zimbabwe Cricket? I remember being somewhat crucified for not jumping on the Tari bandwagon when he hit the scene. Too many flaws in his game including hitting the ball in the air way too much.
Having to bowl to someone like Cephas Zhuwao is great experience for young bowlers on the domestic scene. They won’t have many other batsman taking them on in the manner he does.
From what I can see, there doesn’t seem to be any of the last batch of U19s players in the first round of matches. Another group of players lost to the system?
Never heard of Takudzwa Chataira, but a quick search and it looks like they've plucked him from the Manyame club in the Harare league. Looks like he's played at that level as far back as 2015 so he probably isn't that young.
He looks young though, definitely under 23 or so. Probably started when he was really young
Mid 20's or so I believe. Played school cricket around 2013.
Cricinfo has his record updated now, he is 24, close to 25.
Still young enough to have potential with a good coach.
