Sl and Zim playing a warm up on the 11th
Trust us to not plan properly enough and then arrive late.

All three of our first round matches are night games under lights, which we have very limited experience of. And now due to the rearrangement, both of our warm up games are daytime.

Our inexperience under lights could be the difference, especially against the Windies who will be very used to that.

Can't comment much on other sides, but Bangladesh are terrible. If they were in the first round, they would be at serious jeopardy of not qualifying to the Super 12 round. 10 years of the BPL has produced zero talent in both batting and bowling departments.
They’ve always struggled with power hitting,

Sri Lanka are similar, Thisara was on ya massive hitter but I don’t remember many others like him.

Pakistan & India have produced their fair share
Yeah. Lankans didn't have too many power hitters, but they had class batters with Sanga, Dilshan, Jaya and their spin attack was always solid.

Pakistan haven't has too many big hitters apart from Afridi. They've had bowlers who could throw the bat a bit, buy mostly won with on the back of their bowling strength.
Sanath Jayasuriya was one of the biggest power hitters the world has seen but yeah not many other than him. Presently I'd say Rajapaksa and Shanaka both can do the job for SL.

Pakistan other than Afridi, Razzak was one of the cleanest strikers I had seen, Imran Nazir was a clean hitter too although didn't last long. Sherjeel Khan recently as well... But Pakistan relied on some proper batters who could go really big. Inzi was a classic example, class batsman who could absolutely smash it when needed, Same for Saeed Anwar and Mohammad Yousuf. Yousuf was all class and could accelerate at will.

Before our decline in 2015-, we had the best win rate across t20s and in the world cup. Made 3 finals too or something. This was because our bowling was crazy good with Malinga, Kulasekera, Ajantha, Herath etc So yeah, you can get away with a lack of big hitters if your bowling attack has enough experience and variation.

Practice matches not being streamed (and not open to the public either!) but apparently the ICC will be providing brief video highlights after the game has finished.

I am surprised with the no public.
I live a 2 min walk from the MCG.
Might see if i can see them at warm up nets if i get time.

As we finally get started today I have been thinking there are 2 spots which are really not 100% confirmed yet.

The first spot is number 6. Who do they go with between Munyonga and Shumba? Shumba is more composed and probably the better batsman overall. Munyonga can clear the ropes and he did play in Australia already. Shumba also has experience playing against Ireland and Scotland. Munyonga is probably in better form.

The second spot that I think is not 100% yet is the choice between Evans and Chatara. Evans can make sure we bat all the way to number 9 but I am a but concerned about his bowling. He gives up at least 1 really bad ball an over which will be exposed in T20s. I think Jongwe is guaranteed a place in this format but I think they might just pick Chatara over Evans. Chatara was bowling well before he got injured too. Maybe they replace Ngarava but he offers something different so that wouldn't be ideal.

Will be interesting how we eventually line up against Ireland

Jongwe is expensive no deception. Chatara is good. Evans better
