Need to bowl first with DRS in the mix.Donald wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 2:59 pmI would say zimbabwe to bat first tomorrow.
If scotland set a chase anything over 125 zimbabwe will implode badly given their mental fortitude.
Zim should set the pace and be bold. There will be no alzarri joseph 145 km yorkers tomorrow but disciplined bowling there certainly will be

Yeah but early wickets up front hurt in a DL chase. With Chakabva, Madhevere, and Ervine in the top 3, early wickets are a disticnt possibility.
There are pros and cons either way. D/L is a pretty decent system in most instances.

I'll go with bat first, no matter what.
D/L will almost inevitably come into picture... There seems to be rain from 9 p.m onwards, that's about 15 mins into 2nd innings, we've got to hope it stays away for at least 5 overs to be done.

Nah come on guys. Every coach I ever had as a kid, and everyone I know who works in pro cricket since, always says bat 2nd if there is rain forecast guys. Every time.

That's when we are going to have a truncated game with a revised target. Here once it starts raining it probably won't stop so team batting 2nd doesn't know if they are going to have to go right from the beginning or what to do, also preserving wickets becomes key because with every wicket DLS changes drastically and once you fall behind, it becomes very difficult to catch up.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 5:38 pmNah come on guys. The bowling team need not worry about anything except to just bowl well and take wickets, which they'd do even in normal circumstances.
However, whatever I'm saying is assuming Zimbabwe bat first score decent, like 165-170. If the score is low like 140 or so then yeah, then batting 2nd is easy because then the DLS score is relatively very easy to maintain.

70 percent chance of rain from 8 pm. Zim is all but out.such bad timing and luck. If the rain came any sooner or later we would have qualified...

I'm now seeing 'occasional showers' between 7pm-11pm and 'heavy rain' from around 11pm onwards. So we might be okay!
