I don't get the push for Evans from the forum. Chatara, Ngarvra and Blessing are better bowlers than him by far.

His batting is not as good as Jongwe and we have plenty of bowling but guys still want him in the side.

Evans has just been clutch. doesnt look as good as the others but took crucial wickets

Evans has got massive potential with both bat and ball.

He'll play a lot for Zimbabwe for many years I'm sure.

He hasn't done anything to not be in the side. Yes Jongwe provides something with the bat, but so does Evans. He has a 33 and 28 against India in the recent ODI series, so he is by no means a bad batter, it's just an area he needs to work on.

I think seeing the movement the big 3 are getting, it does make one wonder just how much more attacking we can be with a 4th seamer who can also get some movement off these Aus pitches that are known to liken bounce and movement.

I agree, although Evans has been pretty impressive which is great that we actually have a player outside of the best XI who is playing well enough to be included.

Jongwe & Burl are playing as all-rounders in those 7&8 spots, they’re there for late order hitting & also provide different bowling options if required.

If required being the key term, Zimbabwe doesn’t rely on them to bowl every game, but if the match situation or conditions suit they have option for a 4 seamer or some leg spin bowling.

Again another luxury the side has that we aren’t used to seeing or having. This really is a smartly built side, sure we could do with some more explosiveness in the top 3 & some more Six hitting ability. But overall it’s a good t20 side and that’s why they’re winning a lot of matches.

Jongwe makes things happen and in this format it's something you just can't buy. An example is the Ireland game. 1st ball of the 18th over Burl gets out. 141-6. Jongwe faces 10 out of the remaining 17 legal deliveries and scores 20 out of the 33 we add. It made a huge difference but went under the radar because of Raza's 82. Now its not liking he hitting the ball out the park.. somehow he was making things happen. Yes some days it doesn't work but when it does he can actually quietly win you a game. Ireland chased down a smaller total with ease.

The other risky way of accommodating Evans is dropping Shumba and shifting Burl to 6 and Jongwe to 7 but that is extremely risky. Shumba is a good anchor and an outstanding fielder. Its not like you won't be giving up anything.

I'm sure everybody will get a game at some point

Chatara was also bowling really well in the qualifiers until he got injured. So he 100% deserves to be in the starting 11

Evans also makes things happen but yeah at the end of the day neither one is better than the other by a large margin. Just unfortunate on Evans` part and its hard to fit him in since Jongwe has done his job well too. Shumba should not be dropped. Batting would be too vulnerable


Selection has been pretty good so far so I`d trust the process atm
