The guard of honour for Gobby confirmed it all. What a farewell.....Skipper crowned Champion. Congratulations Mash Eagles. Compton was the leading run scorer (Coventry third in this list), Cremer leading wicket-taker and new sensation Butterworth the leading allrounder. Chigumbura hit maximum 6's followed by Coventry. Great tournament

At least Grant Flower has got a fitting send off from Zimbabwean cricket, unlike many of his generation.

Too bad for Rhinos that the 11th over they faced was a 5-ball over. They could have really done with that extra delivery!

Farewell Grant Flower, and thankyou for the memories :)
I want him to be the batting coach 1000 times more than Brian Lara.
Lara would only be doing it for the cash, where as Flower would be doing it for pure enjoyment and love

From Cricinfo:
Player of the match AJ Hall (Mashonaland Eagles)
Player of the series RE Butterworth (Mashonaland Eagles)
(Bottom of the scorecard page.) Could well just be a difference in terminology, though.

sloandog, I completely agree about Lara. Of all the international imports in Zimbabwe at the moment, Lara strikes me as the most money driven. Apparently Indian billionaires are always flying him around the world on private jets (I read this in an article a few days ago); if he lives the rest of his life like that, he'd need to fund it somehow... Grant Flower on the other hand seems like a humble, genuinely nice guy and is a better fit for the dressing room.

Some photos...

Have a look at Price's eye, apparently it's a bruise that is under the skin (a blood clot or something I guess) that won't disappear so the doctors told him they would need to scalpel it out. Reportedly Price brushed it off and said "It's only pain". :W:
